Visited Haridwar on 21.07.2015 and stayed in Kailash Hotel opposite railway station near shiv murti. For a double bed attached bath room, I was charged Rs. 650/- for 24 hrs. The room was old but not smelly and the floor was renovated with tiles. Bathroom was very basic. A cooler was also installed in the window, but we never felt its need due to monsoon. The attached balcony presented a great view. There were two plastic chairs kept in the balcony which were used for sitting in addition to drying clothes which is a necessity in Haridwar due to compulsory 'Ganag Snan.' The minus point of the rooms facing the main road is the noise produced by running vehicles till late night and again from early morning. The hotel also runs a restaurant which is not always open, when you ask for tea, you will be answered that it is not available as the restaurant is not open now. However, if you give the boy Rs. 15/- he will gladly serve tea from road side vendors available there for Rs. 10/-. There are a number of eateries nearby for taking food like the Khalsa hotel, the Raghubansi Gujrati Bhojnalaya etc. Overall, for Rs. 650/- not...
Read moreWe booked this hotel for our ten days long stay in Haridwar for official purpose mainly based on one of officials reference. I had stayed at many hotels over the years, often luxury ones with impeccable details and fantastic designs. Price-wise hotel Kailash is on par with these better-class hotels. But the comparison fails: Kailash Hotel is not a luxury place. Yet, still fondly remember the stay we had there. ||It is the perceptive and friendly service that makes it worthwhile staying in this. The owners and staff are social at just the right level and they go to great length to make you feel at home. ||||This said, there is nothing wrong with the facilities. The room we had was spacious and pretty, the breakfast & Dinner is good and here you will enjoy Gujarati food too & the distance to the Railway station & Har ki Podi is limited. ||And as many people have written before. Kailash Hotel is a place you would definitely come back to and recommend to your friends. Thank you very much for making our stay...
Read moreThis hotel is very near to Railway station and rooms are Spacious. No restaurants. Reception and First floor lobbies, passages are well designed to attract tourist guests but not the rooms. They are not at all periodically maintained and furnished to current demand. Lot of noise being created by neighbouring room guests and also care takers, room attendants simply shout without having basic manners and etiquettes. Calling bell is also too much disturbing. Totally unclean, dirty Toilets, seepage marks noticed in roof ceilings, age old Geysers which are not de scaled to ensure quick heating of water. Cleaning staff never bother about clearing dust bins etc.. dust ladden sitouts with broken chairs do not serve desired purpose.
This room was chosen by some tour operator who is more interested in his commission and definitely not guest their comfort..! Do, What you pay for is what you get in return. Those who need cool calm rooms never opt...
