Visited in Mar'22.. It's a low budget hotel..far from Mall road even chowk bazar market.. Hotel situated at the downside of the hill, so you always needed to book cab at Rs 300/400 for visiting Mall road... hotel food is tasteless so you need to walk 10-15 mins upside in hill to reach a restaurant near chowk bazar... hotel approach road is very narrow lanes.. even difficult to park big car like Mahindra Xylo... Hotel having water problem, in our last night staying in this hotel without bathroom water.. bathroom looks very old type, even basin drain pipe are not connected... they didn't pay cable operator charges so TV also not working... I would rather say if you don't get any accommodation in Darjeeling then at the last option you may think of this hotel.. one good point I want to mention for this hotel is service guys behavior is good.. This is not a paid review by hotel owner .. Hotel guys are requesting me to change my review through phone but i have decline their request... Whatever i have experienced during staying at their hotel I have elaborated here honestly for the common tourist concern who want a trouble-free Darjeeling tour... i have booked this hotel after seeing the review but when i enter the hotel the review is...
Read moreI'm writing this review to share my disappointment with Darjeeling Summer Palace. The pictures online didn't match what we saw when we arrived. The condition of the hotel is poor and is between the slums. Despite paying 3000 rupees upfront, the room was unsatisfactory and lacked basic cleanliness and hygiene. The room stinks, bedsheets were not washed, there is broken furniture, the entire hotel and the rooms are dingy and the bathroom is equivalent to a public bathroom on the road. Even if you have budget constraints, this is not where you’d want to be. There are much budget friendly, cleaner and hygienic hotels closer to the Mall Road with actual hotel staff for support.
The owner didn't address our concerns or refund our payment, which shows a lack of integrity and customer care. I advise others to think twice before staying here, as the actual conditions don't match the advertised amenities.
Please also note: there is no parking, there is a very narrow stairway where carrying luggage is also difficult, there is no lift, it was very far from the Mall Road, there is no Kanchenjunga view from the balcony, only broken huts, unattractive buildings and slums.
Everyone, beware...
Read moreAvoid Darjeeling Summer Palace at all costs! It's not a palace, it's a nightmare, more like a haunted dungeon than a hotel. The attached pictures tell the gruesome tale of filth and decay that awaits unsuspecting guests. Don't be fooled by any positive reviews—they're likely paid for and entirely fabricated. This place doesn't even deserve a single star. We naively trusted the owner's promises and paid a hefty advance of 3000 rupees, only to be met with horror upon arrival. The reality was far from the glossy website fiction: grimy walls, dirty bedsheet, dirty pillows, a toilet overrun with fungus and a broken seat, all housed in a hideous building surrounded by slums. Save yourself the trauma and sleep on the streets of Darjeeling rather than setting foot in this hellhole. Steer clear of Darjeeling Summer Palace. We just left the moment we entered the room and saw all the lies. Obviously, they didn't refund anything. They are frauds. They trap people by posting false pictures of the hotel and room. There are lots of hotels near the mall at the same price which are leagues better...
