Title: A Memorable Stay at Hotel Mahakal Restaurant, Darjeeling
Rating: ★★★★☆ (4 out of 5)
I recently had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Mahakal Restaurant during my visit to Darjeeling, and overall, it was a memorable experience. The hotel's location, staff hospitality, and dining options left a positive impression on me.
First and foremost, the location of Hotel Mahakal Restaurant is fantastic. Situated in the heart of Darjeeling, it offers breathtaking views of the lush green hills and the iconic Kanchenjunga peak. The proximity to popular attractions such as Mall Road and Tiger Hill is a definite advantage for tourists. Whether it's a leisurely stroll or a visit to the nearby tea gardens, this hotel provides a convenient base for exploring the beauty of Darjeeling.
The staff at Hotel Mahakal Restaurant deserves special praise for their warm and friendly service. From the moment I checked in, I was greeted with smiles and made to feel welcome. The hotel staff was attentive to my needs and always ready to assist with any queries or requests. Whether it was arranging transportation or providing information about local attractions, their professionalism and willingness to go the extra mile made my stay all the more enjoyable.
One of the highlights of my stay was the dining experience at the hotel's restaurant. The Mahakal Restaurant offers a diverse menu featuring both local and international cuisine. The food was flavorful, well-presented, and served with promptness. I particularly enjoyed the authentic Darjeeling tea, which was a delightful way to start my mornings. The restaurant's ambiance was cozy and inviting, providing a relaxing atmosphere for dining and unwinding after a day of exploration.
The rooms at Hotel Mahakal Restaurant were comfortable and well-maintained. My accommodation was clean, spacious, and equipped with all the necessary amenities. The bed was comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep, and the en-suite bathroom was modern and clean. However, I did notice some minor wear and tear in the room, which could be improved to enhance the overall experience.
While my stay at Hotel Mahakal Restaurant was enjoyable, there were a few areas that could be further enhanced. The Wi-Fi connectivity in the hotel was occasionally unreliable, which could be inconvenient for guests needing a stable internet connection. Additionally, the hotel could benefit from more recreational facilities such as a fitness center or a spa to provide guests with more options for relaxation and wellness.
In conclusion, my experience at Hotel Mahakal Restaurant in Darjeeling was a positive one. The stunning location, friendly staff, and delicious dining options made it a memorable stay. I would highly recommend this hotel to travelers looking for a comfortable and convenient base to explore the beautiful town of Darjeeling. With some minor improvements, it has the potential to become an even more exceptional...
Read moreFood: This restaurant even doesn't sticks as a Bengali restaurant. Still now I knew that a restaurant maintained a good standard in quality and quantity in their known/famous dishes/food style. But this restaurant still lacks this feature. I eat a chicken thali but we found that the restaurant will give you chicken leg 🍗 after paying extra charges. If we don't pay extra charges, then we have to eat chicken parts where meat is not sufficiently present like ribs. There is one advantage that this restaurant provides sweets after a meal where in other restaurants in Darjeeling u wouldn't find. But in Sweets , u have to buy rosogolla differently in 25 rupees. In thali they will provide u chutney and curd. In chutney, the pulps of the fruit just tastes like the white part of the egg.The curd is very good and just tastes like Kolkata style mishti doi. But , the quantity of biriyani was not sufficient and it does not taste like Kolkata style biriyani. Service: Cleaning of the dine in tables is not properly done. We have to wait for a long time about 45 mins for starting our lunch after giving our orders. Atmosphere: The atmosphere is very crowded and feels like a hot and...
Read moreIf there is some options of giving negative marks in review, I will definitely give this for their services. Four times called them after arrival around 11:30am, upto 3pm we haven't get any regular water. We don't expect any special treatment from them but when they charge Rs. 2000per day per room, at least regular water which is common and complementary thing , should be given after check in. A towel they have given it is, just a hand towel. If you don't carry a proper towel , then it's hard to go for a bath with their hand towel. In second day we haven't get our per day complementary water. We have to bought it after several reminders. Hotel Shivam and Hotel Mahakal both are under same chain. Hotel Shivam is just a disgusting hotel. In a room there is no ventilation and if you keep the window open then any one who is keeping movement in corridor can see you in your room. When we ask to change then room, they told there is no vacant room. After telling them that we are leaving this hotel, then they open the second floor rooms for us. Though there is a same problem and they ask us to...
