Ginger Chennai (Vadapalani) — Hotel in Zone 10 Kodambakkam

My mother is admitted in hospital sims and our whole family was waiting outside for place to stay and I do have a 9 months old baby .. we just need a hygiene safe place to stay and take rest for old people and my baby.. since we need to visit the hospital multiple times.. me and my husband just before few mins checked for rooms online it was available we are about to book but instead we did approach directly to see if there is any rooms for 5 people like suite or excutive room but then the receptionist confirmed all rooms are small and we dnt that category but 2 people can stay in 1 room.. since we wanted to see the room so that we can book double or triple rooms.. accordingly.. but then one of the staff restricted saying there is no rooms and the reception girl is watching his face which is very evident that he is stoping us from getting rooms.. he simple said.. we dnt have any rooms.. and my husband even mentioned we can see available rooms online and he claims yes but once they reach he will inform them that no rooms available.. it was so pathetic.. tat bald slim Hindi guy claimed as manager.. with no proper uniform or attire.. it was very evidently understood that he judged me and my husband based on our looks.. I dnt understand how we could dress so impressive and have makeup on .. wen. Our closed ones are in critical stage and inspite of this culture we shd nt judge any one based on looks.. this experience with this hotel made has really bad that how trained staff behaves.. what I mentioned here is just the conversation but his body language and behaviour was very bad and...

I stayed overnight in a room that they call as super saver. Since I was traveling solo with just one travel bag I was quite ok with not having a big room. Though note that the room had one twin bed and was as big as a bathroom. The room was very basic and was clean. The ac was good and it had one small tv. The free Internet provided by the hotel has limited speed and they charge additional for a faster service. They have tiered hourly options to select a internet package. I was surprised to see that hotels are charging money for something so basic in this day and age. The bathroom are decent but the one I was staying had a leakage underneath the wash sink.

On the positive side the only 2 good things about this hotel is its location on main road gives anyone a convenient access to near by vicinity, also there are few decent restaurants around if one wishes to have quick bite. The other thing that gives someone a good first impression is the front desk, they sure manage to give an impression that this hotel is on the mid and upper mid end. But once you look past that there isn't much to talk about.

I planned to extend my stay for an additional day but they jacked the prices by R's 1000, I did not feel the hotel and room was justifying the price so I vacated. An update based on my recent stay (Mar24) : The quality of the rooms and maintenance has deteriorated. In fact, during Check in I specifically requested the lady at the desk to give me a better room since my experience during last time was bad. For some reason, she chooses to give me a room in the second floor wherein work was in progress. The place was dusty and noisy. Main door safety lock was broken, broken toilet door, dirty towel etc. Really poor upkeep. Tata Group should do something immediately if not image will spoil. I had dinner, nothing great, in fact the quality was poor. Breakfast had limited choice but it was eatable. Other than location advantage nothing great about the place. Better choices around.
