I was prepared to write a good review due to my love at first sight for this place, and the 7 months of me building up the excitement of coming there for my first time in Bali. Unfortunately, the feeling isn't mutual. So here's my review after being rejected by this hotel. ||||The rejection came through multiple red flags:||||1. We booked two rooms in September 2022 for our vacation in July 2023. Lavishly paid extra for the free cancellation and the no-deposit option that was offered. ||||In April 2023, we received a message from Bebek Cottages that we had to pay a deposit because we booked for the high season. Not only that, the payment is requested to be done outside of the platform, so not via Booking.com||||With SEVEN MONTHS of booking prior to the date, you would think they'd check their availability and acknowledgment of it being the high season, and the acknowledgment that they themselves offered the no-deposit option. ||||I did not have a problem if I had to pay the deposit, I understood the demand of high season and your need to secure profit. But it deviates from any of the agreements, which I don't deem secure. I inquired about this to Booking.com and they confirmed that we do not have to pay the deposit, so I proceeded this confirmation to Bebek Cottages. ||||2. I received no feedback from Bebek Cottages, yet a week later they contacted me on a different subject: whether I have booked 2 rooms. I confirmed that information. For context: I booked one room for myself, and one slightly more expensive room for my son and daughter-in-law. ||||What do you know, the more expensive room is suddenly not available! As if we booked a fictitious, bogus room 6 months ago! They suggested that we find another nearby hotel for my son and daughter-in-law, so we'd have to split; without giving any references or suggestions. If this is how they handle bookings, who's to guarantee that my room would be available for me when we arrive? ||||3. We signaled this to Booking.com and in consultation with them, canceled our booking at Bebek Cottages. No compensations or anything from Bebek Cottages but scriptural, devoid apologies. ||||I could but think of their flawed marketing strategy, of them wanting to keep the room available for another, more secure bidder during the high season. To them, I was just a lady online that they reeled in due to my naiveté on my first Asia trip. ||Is this scenario subjective? Biased? Based on the substantiation of the situation, can you blame me for having these assumptions? ||||Bebek Cottages looks charming, sadly this is also just an assumption. Assumption based on pictures on the internet. Regrettably, I cannot verify this assumption since we weren't welcomed there. ||||Suffice to say, I do not have a good feeling about this place anymore. Booked another hotel in Sanur and could not feel more relieved for...
Read moreBest staycation ever! Me and my girls had the best staycation experience with Bebek cottage. We booked only for 1 night but the place was just amazing so we ended up extending 2 more nights (even after 3 nights, we felt like it's not enough haha).
Pros: The room is spacious, superb architecture, and a tranquil atmosphere. Our TV in the room has Netflix access. Nice! Huge swimming pool and super clean. Located within the prime location of the Sanur area, not so close to the busy main road, but you can definitely walk to the beach to watch the sunrise. Shoutout to Bu Ayunga, Pak Wayan, and the rest of the staff for their best services and efforts to make our stays comfortable. All of them are so kind, humble, and full of smiles! We did not try the breakfast nor any meals from the menu, but they have a nice in-house restaurant next to the accommodation. And i'm sure they are delish
Cons: The only thing I can think of is only the drainage system in the shower was a bit clogged, the water was draining super slowly so it flooded a little in the shower area.
I will definitely come back to have another...
Read moreAn amazing short stay at Bebek Cottage was the perfect choice for a quiet getaway for a change of scenery. The location is quiet yet convenient. It’s a short 5 minute walk to the beach and promenade where there are many choices for dining, spa and water activities. Head to the right away from the beach and you’ll find some of Bali’s amazing creative talents; Carlos showroom, Philip Lake ceramics and Kevala where you can do a ceramics class in their studio.
One packed day with a sunset stroll by the beach and a light dinner along the promenade, sunrise walk, yummy breakfast and a swim in the beautiful gardens and pool at Bebek Cottage, a paddle through the boats moored in the bay and back to the cottage to pack up, get refreshed and head on my way.
The room was spacious, the bed and linens beautiful and comfortable and the gardens by Made Widjaya stunning with a wonderful collection of statues hidden amongst the tropical greenery.
Thank you for a beautiful one night get away. I’ll be...
