I have chosen to wait a few days to write a fair, unbiased but personal report to inform future visitors to Bamboo Moon Villas, Sanur, Bali. It is lengthy but worth a read.||||Upon our arrival we were greeted warmly and in awe of a beautiful Villa (No.3). It was clear the owner (not present in Bali) had made particular efforts to create a more than comfortable space for visitors to stay. Furnishings were excellent, all spaces were clean and steps were clearly taken to provide a wonderful experience. The Villa is located at the end of a quiet neighborhood road and all required amenities are a short 10/15 minute walk. ||||It would be unfair to report speculatively on the next experience but it is important to convey factual information only. ||||Our holiday spending money was kept locked in the villa safe (not fully functioning - electric key pad was not working as it was faulty (informed by Ode - onsite dual manager) but a single key was in its place. On the morning of the 28th July our remaining spending money was counted to the sum of 20 million rupiah. My wife deducted 2 million for our days activity, leaving 18 million. Each 10million was wrapped in bank sleeves and placed in 2 small zip tied bags. There was no further access to the safe. Upon preparation to check out the following morning 29th July it was immediately obvious each bag was light and missing currency to the sum of 10 million rupiah (approx. 5 million from each bag). I immediately reported this to Ode who was very quick to support us in contacting the Balinese police to report the occurrence. I reported this incident as a crime inquiry and not for purposes of insurance. ||||These are the facts. There is no proof of any wrong doing from any of the staff of the Villa who up to this point in our stay were courteous and seemingly trustworthy. ||||Non factual: There are several additional circumstantial anomalies that indicate untoward behaviours. ||- The full functionality of the safe was limited to key use only. ||- Ode assured me he did not have a back up master key. Our key was the sole key. It was hidden (by us) in the Villa and there was no damage to the safe. ||- After each occasion the room was serviced the rear door of the Villa unit was intentionally left unlocked. I manually checked and locked it upon my return to the room (each day of our stay). The door had direct access to the room in which the safe was located. ||- Ode and Kadek were not present at the villa from the early am to the late pm on the day of the 28th July due to preparations of a cultural festival. ||- There is no CCTV anywhere within or at the access/ periphery of the Villa. ||- If a random intruder were to access the Villa they may be inclined to take all of the money rather than a balanced sum from each of the piles and other electronic devices that were present. ||- The incident occurred on the penultimate eve of our stay (knowing we will intend to leave the premises soon after). ||- There was some evidence of trampled plants on the surrounding wall at the rear of the villa (next to the unlocked door access). - this was noted by the police. ||||The above information hopefully provides an overview of our experience factual and circumstantial. ||||During the police intervention I contacted the Villa owner who remained distant of our ordeal. I offered my insight and detail of the events and was responded to with "I believe that the Balinese police have dealt with the matter". ||||What occurred next was the most disturbing. During the trip to the police station my wife (who reminded at the Villa) accompanied my children to a nearby restaurant and internationally locked all doors of the Villa (and took the key with her on her person). We returned together to find the front sliding doors of the villa open. I questioned Ode about this occurrence and asked who accessed the Villa. Ode assured me, nobody entered or opened the doors of the Villa. Only the pool man accessed the Villa and does not have a key to the door. I pressed Ode for an explanation but he lied whilst looking at me in the face and responded "This is your thoughts, up to you, this is your thought". "Do you have photo to show you locked the door". ||||This situation was highly unnerving and the atmosphere of the Villa and my trust in the management changed. ||||There are many glowing reviews of the Bamboo Moon Villas and if it were not for 10 million rupiah missing from our locked villa safe i feel we would have written a similarly glowing report. There is little the owner can do to affect this situation and I understand his distant approach considering there is onsite managerial support provided.||||I hope you do not incur a similar experience and one that has tainted our view of Balinese warmth and...
Read moreWe stayed 6 days in Villa 3 ||Absolutely loved it ~ plenty of room for 6 people , bedrooms a great size - the seperate one out the back was great if 2 couples going up etc (tiles still need fixing in that bathroom though) however didn’t affect us as was covered up , having staff come in and cook breakfast western or Indonesian with a plate of fruit each morning was great - they also comeback and do housekeeping. |The gardener was always sweeping up and cleaning etc , came to attend to pool and clean , Anna the manager was very responsive to any messages. |There is a washing machine to the left of No 3 that staff use to wash towels and sheets - we washed our own clothing and towels in that. |Aircon in bedrooms was great - however I feel an A/C in main living room would be great as it can get a bit warm. ||Taxis usually at end of the driveway and Gojek is great for getting food / drink delivered if u can’t be bothered going out.||Being we are in a tropical climate bugs , frogs etc are expected - didn’t faze us too much, we had bought bug spray so just sprayed that (As we do in Aus) ||The outdoor bath however was a disappointment as it was surrounded by a pond with fish etc - this is where the mosquitos were very bad so what I thought was going to be a beautiful experience I never tried as my daughter was in n out in 10 minutes due to mosquitos.||There is also a school located next door so if you plan on sleeping in this may be a problem (we wake up early so didn’t bother us ) happy Indonesian kids is a lovely sound.||Perfect accommodation if you don’t want to be holed up in a hotel room - so relaxing and beautifully furnished. ||Would...
Read moreBamboo Moon Villas offer exceptional family accommodation! My family and I were overwhelmed by the friendliness of the staff from the moment we met our driver at the airport. When we arrived at the villa, the manageress showed us round and explained everything we needed to know. Every morning two ladies cooked a tasty breakfast then came back a while later to clean up. The fridge has an ice machine and there is fresh water on tap...bonus! The Villa also housed a large TV, with numerous channels and a super sound system...double bonus!||||I was extremely impressed by the size the private pool and beautiful well kept gardens that surround the Villa. The Villa itself was just as impressive. All rooms offered ample living space, the decor is beautiful and of high spec...a pure joy to look at. ||||The beach is a short distance away, as is the town. Both have huge amounts of restaurants and bars to cater to everyone's taste. Many water sports are on offer, just remember to barter the price. ||||We were pampered beyond belief by the staff, everything we asked for they did and if they didn't know, they would find out and came back to us with an answer. We all had a very relaxing and chilled holiday experience. We will definitely go back again. Thank you so much for your hospitality Bamboo Moon Villas....
