Deep House Bungalows — Hotel in Gili Trawangan

Problems with the noise - owner was shouting very loudly from about 6.30am waking me up. At first thought it was a guest but when I got up to ask if they could keep it down I realised it was the owner. When it got to about 7am he started playing loud jazz/swing music despite a saying himself there was no music allowed before 8am and after 10pm (music played until midnight both nights too). The music the rest of the day would have been fine if not for the owner's tone-deaf whistling which was possibly the most annoying sound in the world.Pool was very dirty and there was no filter, they just pour more and more chlorine in until anyone with sensitive skin is burnt on contact.WiFi didn't work at all and owner seems to think this is fine because "kids these days shouldn't be so addicted to their phones". Maybe he should try staying somewhere without WiFi? How are you meant to book anything? Contact family? Research and book activities and travel? Owner has a very poor attitude with regards to any negative reviews, stropping and insulting people instead of addressing problems or apologising. We loved our stay at Deep House Bungalows. For the price, you have everything you need, it is perfect for us backpacking travellers. The beds are super comfy, the outdoor shower is refreshing and cool which is what you need on Gilli T. The air con and fan in the rooms work perfectly. You are in the best location to walk to the strip and beaches on either side of the island. You can book good trips easily and hire bikes from reception. We were welcomed by Ken and his team which was lovely, the bungalows are ‘cheap cheap accommodation’ as Ken calls them, and for that purpose they were great. We stayed in a triple room with AC which was comfortable although the AC didn’t work the best it was quite warm in the room but kept it as a manageable temperature to sleep! Such is life with budget accommodation and it was worth the price we paid. The staff were all really friendly and helped us organise a boat trip snorkelling around the gilis which was great.
