Midnight Star II — Hotel in Gili Trawangan

Stayed 2 nights at 150,000 per night including breakfast. Found Andre the owner extremely nice and helpful.||Does it really deserve the 4 stars? For the money we paid yes it does! Had we paid more than we would have given it 3 even 2 stars.||Pros:||- great for travellers who are on a tight budget||- location - close to all the food and drink places||Cons:||- cold shower but all the budget places on Gili T have cold shower so this should not classed as a con really and the water wasn't really that cold anyway||- no mosquito net and you really need one!||- no sink in the bathroom! We have come across this previously before in other places but we rally don't get why you would build a bathroom and not put a sink in it? Hate not having a sink but that's us.||- location - a bit close to the bars with live music playing until the ungodly hours. It wasn't so bad that it kept us awake all night but could hear it in the background.||- no wifi||- pillows were the most uncomfortable pillows we have ever experienced. Not only they were rock hard but were so big and fat.||All in all, if your are on a budget and don't expect high standards from a 150,000 homestay then...

I have booked an AC room at Midnight Star Cottage and arrive at the property at noon. I emailed to confirm reservation with double room a few times and owner never give an honest reply. During my arrival the staff said the book room is not free as someone else is occupied it. The owner of the property told me on the phone to come back in the afternoon. We left our luggage there and left in one of non-ac room. In the afternoon the staff then told us to come back later at 6 pm as the room is still occupied and expect to be free. At 7 pm the staff was gone and a caretaker who got no clue about any thing was there. We were left on the street looking for a new place to stay. Lucky for us we found a place to stay late at night during peak season in Gili. Very bad management and unprofessional place. Not really recommend to stay especially if you book online. Avoid...

We arrived by luck, since there werent any signs leading to the little door. First thing to notice: the towels were just folded - and were very dirty. The bed is ok, a bit hard and there was good air-con. But that is not so helpfull since the power went out every 15 minute. There is not a door to the toilet, but a curtain.two of the three nights we woke to the sound of croakrochs in our room. And a lot of people talking loudly/drunkly. So dont get misleaded by its name "superior" - its not! Its "ok" if you like to try to live a bit more down to earth, and dont expect more than a...
