Puri Hondje — Hotel in Gili Trawangan

I strongly do NOT recommend this place. Don't be fooled by the friendliness of the staff as we went out for lunch locked the door and when we came back from lunch the door was still locked but 100€ in cash were missing from our bags. I am certain that the money was there before we and after looking for 3 hours in the entire room it was nowhere to be found. Unfortunately I have no proof so this will never be handled but at least I can warn other people to avoid this place cause who wants to stay in a place where once you leave, one member of the staff uses his key and goes through your bags to steal your stuff?!|Beside this, it is so filthy, the AC barely works, there aren't any mosquitos blockers and the ones on the bathroom windows do not work. So no Mather how much repellent you put on, you end up being mosquito bate.|They don't clean the room (we stayed there for 3 nights) the sheets stink, I had to sleep with no cussion because the smell of sweat on it was just too strong and I couldn't put my head on it.|The location isn't good either as all the good restaurants are located at 20 minutes walk minimum. There are loads of nice places to stay, as they are building new hotels and there is a lot of other guest houses way nicer than this one , don't settle for this it is clearly not worth it how ever cheap it is. Because in the end they go through your stuff to steal what's yours....

First we couldn’t believe that its really 2-floor house for this price. But it appeared to be even better, than pictures on Booking.

The place is spacious, has 2 big beds, 1 shower, terrace, shared pool and kitchen. Everything is very clean and maintained. There is 2 more rooms for rent on the same territory, but place is very calm and cozy.

Every detail you need is there - free water refill, fan, ac, plugs everywhere, cushions to sit in the floor etc.

The woman that takes care of the place (Kade) is amazing, very friendly and professional. She will give you all recommendations you need about the area.

Only minus— the mosque, that sometimes had really loud praying. For the rest it was just perfect. We stayed in the place 8 days and I could live there...

When we arived, this place was still under construction, the staff was standing outside smoking and our room wasn't made. The excuse of the staff was that they didn't have electric. But you don't need electric to change the sheets in the room, specialy when you know you will have guest. The online pictures of this place, do not match the current state. The place is dirty and the pool is empty. We can understand that covid was hitting hard, but atleast update your online pictures and stop selling your guest a lie. This was very unwelcomining expericance to arive at the ''beautiful Gilis''. So we ended up, directy cancel this place and change our stay to a...
