This place truly captures the essence of island life, with friendly vendors, mouthwatering food, and an authentic market vibe that makes every visit a memorable experience.
A Seafood Lover’s Paradise
The highlight of the night market is, without a doubt, the incredible variety of fresh seafood. You’ll find an impressive assortment of fish, prawns, squid, lobster, and even crab, all displayed on ice and ready to be grilled to perfection. The best part? You choose your own seafood, and they grill it fresh on the spot, seasoned with delicious local spices and served with rice, vegetables, and sambal for that extra kick of flavor.
Unbeatable Prices
For the quality and freshness you get, the prices are incredibly affordable. Whether you’re looking for a simple grilled fish meal or a full seafood feast, you’ll find that everything is reasonably priced, making it one of the best-value dining experiences on Gili T. You get to enjoy high-quality seafood without breaking the bank!
More Than Just Seafood
While seafood is the main attraction, the night market also offers plenty of other delicious options. From grilled corn and local Indonesian dishes like nasi goreng and satay to sweet treats and fresh tropical smoothies, there’s something for everyone. The smoothies are especially good—fresh, fruity, and made right in front of you with the best local ingredients.
Friendly and Welcoming Atmosphere
The people at the night market are incredibly kind and welcoming. The vendors are always happy to chat, recommend dishes, and make sure you have the best experience. Even if the market gets busy, the vibe is laid-back and enjoyable, making it a great place to relax, eat, and soak in the island’s energy.

Shop is literally called "noodle soup" on the signboard. Right round the corner from a 7mart and Sea Star Tour & Travel, in an alleyway marked by a huge faded signboard and a red Le Petit Gili signboard. Stall is beside a small convenience store.
They sell only one item - meatballs soup with noodles (bakso). Soup was very comforting and tasty, not overly seasoned. Friend said it was peppery but I didn't really think so. Added a bit of (very spicy) chilli sauce to enhance the flavour. Loved it. I counted 7-8 small meatballs with a hardboiled egg and beehoon / soun (vermicelli noodles). Had coriander but the taste wasn't strong (I hate coriander). Cost: 20,000 IDR. Sedap!!
Seats are available outside or inside.
Stall is diagonally opposite the official night market entrance (walk out, face the sea, turn northwest). Walk along the side of the road nearer the sea until you pass the jetty slightly. You will see a red sign (around waist level) in a stall with bamboo- and hut-like decor, and smell something delicious (savoury and sweet), almost similar to pad thai or pad see ew.
They sell a variety of noodles fried with different ingredients. Carb options: kwayteow, mee, beehoon / soun (think I saw rice too). Ingredient options: egg, chicken, seafood, etc. Taste is salty and sweet, quite heavily seasoned so be prepared with water. Very tasty and appetising, though it tastes nothing like pad thai despite how it smells like one. Generous portion. I got the soun with egg & chicken takeaway. Cost: 40,000 IDR.

Read moreI rarely like to leave poor reviews, but people need to know that this “night market” isn’t the best. I recommend going to enjoy the experience, but be cautious. Let’s start with the good things: fresh juice and desserts are safe and plentiful! The fish is pretty much the same at each stall and many are not on ice. The other foods you can get are room temp at best and the people working the stalls are constantly batting away the flies. None of this scared me away and we were adventurous… after sampling plenty of the ready made food, like mine goreng, tofu, tempe, samosas and spring rolls, we then ordered seafood skewers: octopus, calamari and mussels. They said they would bring them to my table, but didn’t so I went to ask for them and they were cold. They reheated them on the grill and we tried a bite of each (not much food to cause all the havoc we then endured). This is how we got Bali Belly in Gili T. I also want to clarify that my whole group is pretty adventurous and loves to try new food and we rarely have issues with adjusting to new cultures foods, this was a result of seafood not kept at a proper temp. So in all of this, enjoy the experience, but choose wisely. (If you end up like me, get the activated charcoal at the market,...
