This is genuinely one of those incredible places to stay when the 5 stars available are not enough to do this hotel and it’s staff justice.
If you are considering staying on Gili T, this is by far the best hotel on the island. We extended our stay while we were there to 4 weeks and had to change flights and other arrangements to do so. Also the observation about this being the best hotel aren’t ours alone but every single guest we spoke to (around 20).
There are a number of room types to choose from. We stayed in a fantastic pool view terrace room.
This is beside a beautiful quiet long pool shaded by palm trees behind the main facade at the front. Sun beds, bean bags and showers there.
Beautiful surroundings with white brick walls and beautiful trees and plant lining your walk to the front of the hotel.
Then you come to a large airy inside breakfast and reception area. Choice of breakfast is good and always tasty.
At all points now you are simply wowed by the views from all areas.
Next is the outside pool with swim up bar. Bean bags surround it with low level tables where guests enjoy drinks and snacks. Many choose to lean over the wall of the pool simply taking in the breath taking views of the turquoise waters and white sand beach.
Next to the front of the hotel is their BBQ area. You can select your individual food from all kinds of fish and meats, which will be served with accompanying sides from a truly extensive ‘salad bar’ within in the open outdoor restaurant overlooking the beach. That salad bar includes fantastic hot pasta, fresh bread rolls, various sauces ..the list goes on.
The restaurant is genuinely one of the very best, if not the best on the island. Always busy, almost always full with every table being taken. Not just guests but people from all over the island go there.
Behind the restaurant on the same level, beach loungers with cushions and towels are 2 steps above the beach looking out to the beautiful waters and the island of Lombok.
It’s location again, is probably the best on the island. Great shops, bars, restaurants to either side of it. Have I mentioned the view?
The manager and staff. Wow, wow, wow. The most fantastic, helpful, happy, interactive and respectful team one could wish for. Nothing is too much trouble.
The manager Dewa Wija runs an incredibly professional team who are a credit to him. Dewa couldn’t do enough for us. We needed to change flights - he did it. We needed to extend our visa - he did it. We needed to arrange transport to Lombok and back - he did it.
We chose to take the hotel option of private transfer from and back to the airport to the hotel.
Nice car waiting for you. Drives you to the waters edge on Lombok. Step on to a speed boat that gets you to Gili T in 5 minutes. get this, it pulls up on to the beach right outside your hotel.
I apologise for the length of this review, but the hotel, it’s staff, it’s quality, it’s food and it’s location truly deserve it.
You will have an incredible time if you choose to go there. Bon...
Read moreI was going to stay at some cheaper bungalow accomodations. I won't say which one but they were charging $20 AUD a night. The aircon wasn't very good and the showers and sink did not have any hot water, low water pressure (some hotels on the Gili islands do not have hot water) so I looked around and then I found the Beach House resort which is on the main street near the Harbour and Bars. I was impressed. The window had massive large curtains which block out any sunlight and a huge window front 3.5 x 3.5m. Bad thing is you can't smoke in the rooms. The bed has a nice soft queen size bed. The pillows/blankets are really soft and comfortable. The room looks very modern. The airconditioner is very good. You get your own private bathroom. The showers are really nice (big shower head) All the taps, toilets and shower heads had good pressure and hot water. The room smells nice and are very well cleaned and well maintained with tiling floor. The bathroom/toilet smelt good too. If you go to other cheap hotels in Bali, some of the bathrooms just smell bad. I would defiently come back to the Beach House resort if I were to visit Gili T again. I paid only $30 AUD a night (high season Christmas) The rooms has it's own mini bar fridge and a safe to store your valuables in. It's in a quiet area. It's only 2 min walk to the main street and close to all the food shops. I wish I did stay longer because the beds were so comfortable. And I slept very well each night. The staff are really friendly. 5 stars for me! Im really happy and it was a very...
Read moreThis hotel is really stylish and trendy and a 3 minute walk from the harbour. We were welcomed with a refreshing juice and friendly receptionist to check in. It is a beautiful setting, with the pool parallel to the beach with swim up pool bar and vibey music playing all day. The staff are friendly and helpful and the food is nice. The second pool next to the room is picturesque and quieter than the front pool if you want a peaceful pool day - lovely for a late night swim before bed. The room was clean and well kitted out - rather small but fit for purpose. The outdoor bathroom was very cool at the back of the room. My only negative points about this hotel are firstly that some of the table decorations in the restaurant are a tiny jar with colourful stones and a beautiful looking living fish inside - poor things have no space to swim and are bumping into the sides of the jar all day every day in warm water that's sat on a table in the heat all day - cruel and unecessary - the hotel is stylish enough without exploiting pretty looking animals for decoration. Secondly the rooms don't block out the noise of people with their kids using the pool first thing in the morning - don't expect to sleep in past 8am. Otherwise a good stay on the busier side of the island, right in the heart of the action - would recommend! Just don't put fish in jars for decoration please - either put them in a proper fish tank or...
