This rating is specifically only for their Korean fusion fine dining courses during the 2025 Chinese New Year eve. Also not for their service staffs as they were excellent (they were noticeably flustered during the night with quite a few other guests complaining as well).

In the past, we have always come to Orient 8 for their amazing Sunday brunch buffets, and thus during the eve of the Chinese new year day, we decided to come here with high expectations, ordering their highest tier set of courses. It unfortunately end up ruining our family dinner for this particular auspicious night...

Amuse Bouche. a bland salad in crunchy taco shell something, ordinarily average, nothing special -3/5 White snapper ceviche. was good, tasted clean with burst of flavors. We thought this was the start of good things to come -4/5 Mandu porridge. very bland but decent porridge and mandus, again nothing special, we still considered them to be alright -4/5 Poached lobster something. This was the beginning of their downfall. They served frozen lobster that felt like it was defrosted way too quickly and making them overtly cooked. All 6 of us ended up complaining as they were unchewable and returning them. It easily marks this place, not only the dish, as a 0/5 fine dining restaurant. It was shockingly ridiculous that such serving can pass the inspection. They replaced it with a grilled sea bass. -0/5 Seabass something. Another frozen fish we felt that was also defrosted too quickly; one could still feels the chewiness knowing it was not a fresh fish, but this one cooked better as they grilled them, still very awful all things considered for a fine dining plate -1.5/5 Steak We waited over 30 minutes for this to come out, precisely as of now 33 minutes and it still has not came out. Ridiculous, the place was practically only half full, and I'm currently writing this as we are still waiting for it to comes out (I can't review or give a shot of the dish as it still has not come out after such a very long time). What fine dining takes almost 2 hours to present only 4 courses and not even including their main?

Do perhaps come here for their Sunday buffet (hopefully still a french cuisine and not a korean fusion... but I doubt we will come or recommend them anytime soon in the near future) and avoid the fine dining. It was supposedly a special Korean chef but this end up as one of our worst fine dining ever.

We guessed the chef was not around tonight as he probably went home to celebrate the lunar new year with his family. Still, no excuse for the kitchen staffs for such a newbie low performances considering this is a price tag of 1.3 million a pax fine...

Thank you Orient8 for making my parents' 50th anniversary so special and memorable. Service is impeccable. Staffs stayed a distance away, giving more privacy for customers, but very attentive and fast respond. Almost like they have radars. In time clear aways and servings, very quick to attend when we needed to take family photos, and with great result too. These all without needing to call out for assistance! The food.. need not to say... fresh and tasted almost perfection! Made advanced booking for Fiesta set menu with little adjustments. Easily the best experience fine dining we've ever had so far. Crispy asparagus wraps, eggplant salad with grilled beef, fresh spring rolls with crab stick, fried prawns with salty egg duck sauce.. love them all. Rich pho beef soup fits our taste buds perfectly. Chicken barbecue so soft and juicy. Even the barbecued young corn served with the chicken is so buttery and yummy. Spicy level of sauteed prawn with mushroom was just right. Finally, the mango charlotte and sorbet are heavenly! We were so engulfed with the atmosphere, service and food that we forgot to take photos of those great food! And a very thoughtful complimentary is the anniversary cheese cake with grapes topping! Tasted light and fresh, not cheese-milky-rich, just perfect! Some may say they are pricey, but I think they worth every dime you spent. Keep up the good work fellas! Will definitely come back to enjoy your great service and other...

overall not a good experience, im surprised bc it's coming from this resto that under Mulia Hotel like???? i expect more lol bc the bill & the servicr charge isn't cheap tho, anw the place is good just for...

Orient8 for decades had been known for its french-Indochina fusion food. In recent times, they have added Korean taste into the menu selection. This art-deco restaurant still keeps its shine, elegance and swanky atmosphere despite having been there for almost 1.5 scores years. Service is also top notch. They always greet you as if you are regular visitors to Hotel Mulia. The set menu that we ordered comprise of: - Mini salad: Melon Burrata and Ham 4.0/5.0 stars - Crispy baby potato and corn ribs 4.0/5.0 stars - Pho Chicken 4.0 / 5.0 stars - Korean style BBQ short ribs 4.3 / 5.0 stars - Kimchi fried rice 4.6 / 5.0 stars - Mango Bingsu 4.5 / 5.0 stars The korean short ribs and kimchi fried rice really stand out. The service and ambience are 5 stars rating. All in all I would personally rate the restaurant as 4.4 / 5.0 stars.

We came to dinner at this restaurant, the place was comfortable and the food varied. Here you can choose a menu or you can eat all buffet. for the price we both eat buffet IDR 850000 using BRI cc promo. Actually there are a lot of restaurant choices in this noble hotel, one of them is Orient8 restaurant. Vietnamese, Thai and also French cuisine too because French cuisine has a strong influence on Vietnam's culinary story. The interior inside this restaurant is very gorgeous, classy and elegant in every way. at Orient 8 was absolutely unforgettable. It was a wonderful night filled with delicious food, considering the ambiance and quality of food. One more, the servants there were all very helpful and friendly too. We are very happy to be helped to capture our moment during dinner at Orient8. very helpful!
