Acta Brasserie's entrance kinda confusing, as it's located next to GBK building, and the signage are small enough to be notice. It's located inside a golf course and no personal parking space there except using a valet which cost around 75k. But you can park behind the GBK building, and walk around 750meter getting inside the restaurant, which is kinda annoying. Do have a driver or use online transport service if you want to dine here.
Ambience of the restaurant is okay, very bright, has many open windows and direct access towards the golf course. It is surrounded by many trees and bushes especially the outdoor area, so despite the hot weather, it's still felt cool. Indoor area has private room and also bar seats. It was very crowded during lunch time, and we were given only 2 hours to dine there.
Service and food came out slow, we even forgot what we have ordered until it came. Probably because of the bustling time.
We ordered taco nori cheese burger and chicken samyang for appetizer.
Tacos are fine, it's like eating a cheese burger but the bun are replace with fried seaweed shape in taco sheet, which add crispy texture and additional savory taste from it. Filling are generous for each taco, although nothing special from it (like any other cheese burger) perhaps ordering different filling instead of cheese burger should be more worth trying.
Samyang pop chicken, deep fried chicken with batter and samyang sauce and mozzarella cheese. Not too spicy like the real samyang noodle, and they are generous with the cheese. Chicken is tender and crispy. But with that price, I would rather order korean chicken take away which will give me bigger portion.
Main course came late, and we were starving, so hardly remember the taste much
Burger something as in picture, they were kind enough to cut into 4 pieces. Surely not the best burger in town, but still worth eating, and price are worth it. Meat is juicy, enough sauce and fillings, portion is okay.
Nasi goreng with sambal something, I forgot, but by far the best dish among the one I've tried here. Portion wise, chicken is okay although kinda dry, the best one is the sambal. It is supposed to be mixed along the rice, but we decided to separate it in case too spicy.
Most of the drink are okay, in fact, no complaints from it.
Overall,my experience here is just Okay, worth trying. This restaurant is definitely fit for playing golf or just waiting for one. If you are looking for a semi outdoor green view place to hang out, just grab a drink and chat comfortably, this is the place. But for me, nothing special...
Read moreFirst of all let me just say that the food at Acta is definitely satisfactory. I ordered the Nori Tacos (Ikura Mentai, Sesame Tofu, and Soft Shell Crab), the Foie Gras Toast, and the Sirloin. I really liked the Tacos and Steak, but the Foie Gras Tost was just too greasy and fatty for my liking. I’m pretty sure everything else on the menu would be up to the same standard.
What I had issues with were actually the ambience and the service. I went on a Thursday night, arrived at 7:45pm and the place was absolutely PACKED (this is a pandemic) and a DJ was playing. Luckily there was a table closer to the kitchen that was further away from the crowds. We were seated and as we were looking through the menu suddenly the house lights were dimmed and the music was turned WAY up (this is 8pm). I struggled to make my order clear to the server through my mask and the very loud thumping music. And this loud thumping music got worse as the DJ proceeded to play music more suited for a rave party rather than a brasserie still serving dinner at 8pm. My friend and I had to shout across the table to try and carry on some sort of conversation. This made for a very uncomfortable dining experience.
We also knew that Last Order was at 8:30pm, so we ordered our desserts ahead of time so that it could be served after our meal. Apparently they didn’t remember to put our desserts order in and by time we finished with our savory dishes it was already 8:40pm and the kitchen was already closed. Disappointed. Granted, the server ended comping our beverages which were only Iced Tea and Peppermint Tea...I appreciated the effort and gesture, but it didn’t make me any less disappointed (I was really looking forward to dessert).
Summary: Food was great. Service can be improved. Biggest problem: 8pm Thursday night, I expected to have a nice dinner with a friend...we ended up not being able to have a proper conversation because the music was way too loud and disruptive. I also do not appreciate not being able to see my food...the place had gotten so dark. If you’re looking to have a civilized meal I strongly suggest going during the day.
Obviously..I didnt bother taking photos of food since it...
