After a beautiful, memorable 3-nights stay at Le Temple, I feel lost for words to describe our experiences there. I am mostly grateful for the hospitality and warmth of the staffs, and the service offered throughout our stay.
The layout and architecture of Le Temple is unique and thoughtfully designed, I got so curious about it and read further about the hotel as I found some interesting articles online. Such a tastefully decorated place. I love the room layout, although at the lighting in some areas could be improved such as in the shower and powder room (space to get ready and do my makeup). Other than that, bed was super comfortable and we slept like a baby all throughout our stay.
Foods were AMAZING, kitchen staff and wait staffs were very friendly and welcoming, make you feel at home. We had most of our meals in the hotel itself, so trust me that we really tried as much as we could from the menu, and were never disappointed! We had steamboat for our last night and Chef Huda served us graciously as we chatted with him about the hotel and his cooking experiences. Glad we booked that dinner!
We also used the hotel shuttle service to get us to Mendut Monastery for a meditation session with local monks. It was such a nice experience. Other than that, we had sunrise yoga with Augustina and that was one of the highlights of our stay at Le Temple among many others. On the first night, we had massage session in the spa and was such a relaxing experience.
We used the gym facility as well, and it was simple yet sufficient for workout during holidays.
The hotel is surrounded by beautiful artworks in forms of painting and sculptures / stone carvings, make sure to take your time to walk around and appreciate the details during your stay.
All in all, we had such a peaceful, rejuvenating and rather a “healing” stay. We left Le Temple feeling refreshed and hope to visit...
Read moreWe chose the Hotel Le Temple Borobudur due to the appealing architectural design of the resort shown in the pictures and its proximity to the Borobudur Temple.
The hotel grounds themselves leave little to be desired. The bungalows are beautifully designed both inside and out. We were particularly pleased with the upgrade we received during our stay. The rooms were clean, and the pool was well-maintained. However, there are significant areas for improvement regarding the staff and the overall service, which are necessary for the resort to reach a 5-star level. Currently, it is far from that standard.
The staff speaks very poor English in some cases and is not adequately trained to provide proper service to guests. After dinner, which was quite tasty, the table was often not cleared, and we were not asked if we wanted dessert. We had to get up and ask for the bill ourselves so we could return to our room. The staff's attention was virtually nonexistent, even though the hotel is not yet fully operational. This was very frustrating for us.
One particularly unpleasant experience involved service and privacy: drones flew over the entire resort for several hours, including over our private pool while we were swimming. After calling the reception and expressing our concern, we were assured that this would stop. However, less than 30 minutes later, the drone was flying over our pool again. This is a clear violation of privacy and shows that guest requests were simply ignored.
Another point of criticism is the overpriced airport transfer from Yogyakarta Airport to the hotel, which costs around 900,000 IDR—three times the price of a Bluebird taxi. This is outright extortion.
Additionally, there are no milk alternatives such as oat milk or almond milk, which should be standard in a hotel of this category.
Unless these issues are addressed, I cannot recommend...
Read moreJolan was welcoming us well. Perhaps the hospitality and welcoming from the staffs can be improved. They need proper office to work for their professional staffs. Our first impression of the Villa was okay. But with the given price, there are other hotels at the area that provide better facilities. The location to borobudur temple is only 5-10 mins drive.
We stayed for two nights. We came when it rained, and we needed to call them to help us. Geckos and some pests on our villa. Perhaps some pest control can be arranged for guests. Or pest repellant. There were other villas being constructed, which could be informed towards potential guests prior their visit. So they know what to expect. At times, we need to set the curtains differently because there were guests having lunch outside our Villa. We could hear their voice rather clearly, so I assumed that the villa was not sound proof. The feeling of local people and other guests sneaking through our curtains were not enjoyable. I think in the future when the complete facilities are finished, the complex would be much much better compared to now. The pool was relatively small. There was also a villa with jacuzzi, but ours were not, which was fine for us. Overall, we did enjoy our stay, but i think the facilities can be very much improved - and better priced - as the construction develops. To me, personally, the size of the filler was rather small for a family of three. This Villa is best for 2 person and not really recommend it for bringing toddlers. The breakfast was okay but selections can be improved. For potential guests, this is a nature based stay to my understanding. So if you dont like geckos, sound of night crickets (my wife couldn't sleep on the first night), ants, and prefer standard concrete hotels at a building, you may want to reconsider...
