The Revivo Wellness Resort Retreat experience was nothing short of one of the best experiences my wife and I have had. It was a holiday where we truly got to unwind and focus on our health and wellness. We joined the sustainable weight loss track and for 5 days we ate some of the most tasty, most nutritional food cooked perfectly. I don't think there was 1 meal that had us feeling that we did not enjoy it. However, that was not by chance, it was because they take great pains to ensure your diet is custom made for you. So they consider everything you like and also what you don't like and tailor a meal plan exclusively for you. My wife had a different meal plan based on her preferences and I had my own meal plan based on my preferences but we both completely enjoyed every bite we took at Revivo. Even though I am not a big eater of vegetables, they got me eating a lot of vegetables and that is something I have continued to implement in my diet even after returning back from the vacation. ||Apart from the custom food which is extremely critical since we were on the weight loss track of the retreat, we also had 2 classes per day that encouraged daily activity. It was filled with amazing options from HIIT, Hatha Yoga, TRX, Pilates to name a few. They also had others like Aqua Yoga, Aerial Yoga which were also active classes. Then in the afternoon, the classes were more meditation oriented, designed to give us the mental clarity and balance that so many of us lack in modern day life when we are striving to achieve our life goals. ||Finally, each evening ended with a massage at their amazing Spa where their talented team brought us to a heightened state of relaxation so we could sleep well and recover and recharge for the next day ahead.||What really made this experience great was that it was all rooted in science as well. They have on site some great recovery oriented facilities that are open for us all to use. This included an infra red Sauna and Steam which my wife and I did every day. They also have cold and hot plunge pools that also aid in recovery so the body can be ready for the next days activities. I tried them a few times specially after a session on HIIT and TRX as I had not been training prior to the retreat so I wanted to avoid my muscles from getting too sore and it worked like a charm.||The personal consultations are also based on detailed tests they do including state of the art machines that scan your entire body and posture and give exact details on body composition and posture. They also do tests such as the RMR which measures how many calories specifically we need to eat to survive based on our own unique metabolism but understanding this also helps us understand how many calories we need to consume to lose weight without starving ourselves. Finally, it also includes a detailed bloodwork panel as well. ||The best part though of this entire Revivo experience though was the staff and the entire team at Revivo that all have 1 goal, to give us the best retreat experience and each department works so unbelievably well together. From the starting consultation with Dr. McLaren we felt extremely comfortable and then the feedback we gave her is translated to the chef and the kitchen that tailored our meals keeping us full even with the physical activity and our calorie restricted meals to ensure we lose weight. Never did we ever feel hungry even though we were in a calorie deficit. Then each staff member from the reception desk to the waiters and masseurs, they all know you by name from the first day itself. A special special shout out to Dr. McClaren who guided us perfectly throughout but also to Mr. Gusto and Ms. Sofia who were key in the daily movement classes. It is this personal experience that truly makes Reivvo such a special place and already has my wife and I planning another moment to visit...
Read moreI spent 4 days and 3 nights at this wellness retreat, and overall, it was a peaceful and nourishing experience — though there were some key areas that could be improved.||The arrival was smooth and luxurious, with a comfortable airport pickup. Still, I feel the journey could have been more aligned with the retreat’s wellness spirit — something as simple as calming music or a short meditation could have made it more immersive.||When I arrived, I had a basic wellness consultation and a Visiobody scan, which was used to tailor the program. As a dietitian specialising in holistic care, I found the consultation to be relatively surface-level. There wasn’t much diagnostic depth, and most of the guidance came from the scan results (purely anthropometric)||One thing I truly appreciated was the organic, fresh, and beautifully prepared food. However, I wasn’t fully convinced about pairing juices and smoothies with solid meals — nutritionally, it didn’t always feel like the best combination for digestion or energy balance, especially for those with specific goals.||While I chose the Mindfulness and Emotional Balance program (and noted that some weight loss would be welcome but not essential), I did feel that a lot of essential experiences had to be paid for separately. I paid extra for my private breathwork session, an additional facial, and Reiki healing — all of which were valuable — but for the price of the program, it felt like these should have been included. At other retreats I’ve attended, things like guided nature walks, longer yoga sessions (90 minutes), and spa experiences were part of the base package. Here, the overall structure felt more limited unless you opted to pay for extras, which was disappointing.||That said, the absolute highlight was Sofia, who led my private breathwork and aerial yoga. Her knowledge, energy, and presence are exceptional. She radiates positivity and calm, and the breathwork session with her was genuinely transformative — one of the best wellness moments I’ve had.||I also had a Reiki healing session with their in-house master, which was very grounding and calming. As part of my package, I had two massages — one of which, with Nila, was truly outstanding. It was one of the best massages I’ve experienced. On the other hand, the facial and body scrub were just average.||The overall intensity of the retreat was quite low. While deeply restful, it lacked active options. I found myself lying down a lot, and would have appreciated more movement, especially since I did express an openness to gentle weight loss support. The final Visiobody scan showed a slight weight gain — which I questioned, as it was done post-breakfast instead of after the recommended fasting period.||The retreat also includes red light (LED) therapy, which was calming, and makes use of various wellness technologies. An interesting and thoughtful addition was the nocturnal wellness element, which included things like a ritual detox bath or a chamomile tea in the evening — a lovely touch to wind down.||In summary, the retreat is serene, well-kept, and ideal for those seeking stillness and gentle care. I’m also grateful for their upgrade. However, I do feel the base program should include more, especially given the pricing. While I left feeling restored, the standout moments were those I chose to invest extra in — especially my private breath work with Sofia or the healing...
