We stayed for 4 nights in a deluxe room that had aircon, a fan and a hot shower.||Positives:|- Convenient location about 5-10min walk from kuta beach and about 10-15min walk to main street in kuta town.|-Easy access to property by walking/scooter/car.|-Nice room with good storage space.|-Clean spacious room and bathroom.|- Hot shower, fan and aircon (only in the most expensive room option).|-Terrace area outside each room which is nice to sit and chill.|-Sociable breakfast area.|-Free tea, coffee.|-Welcome drink.|-Safe parking for scooter at night (gate is locked).|-Onsite laundry at 10,000 IDR/kg.|-Onsite scooter rental starting from 55,000 IDR/day.|-People are friendly and always smiling.||Negatives:|- Our room wasn't ready on arrival although we arrived around 5.30pm but we were entertained by the manager who plays guitar and sings!|-Open plan bathroom means there is no privacy when using the toilet or shower which is really weird! At least put up a curtain to separate the toilet!! |- We didn't have a scooter on our first night and walked back from the beach. Too many dogs getting territorial and barking which can be intimidating.|-Very dark at night in surrounding area so carry a light when walking around.|-No duvet just a bed sheet which is too small for 2 people (we had to ask for another one). Too cold with aircon, too breezy with fan and too hot without either of the above!|-Wi-fi? What Wi-Fi?!|-Breakfast can take a while and is small. To top it off, the resident dog wants you to share with him (like all other dogs in lombok!).|- Had to ask for room cleaning twice for it to get done. When it was done, they left the key in the door so the room was unlocked the whole day while we were out. The homestay think this is normal!|-Flickering lights inside room.|-The one guy working there seems over worked even though there are quite alot of people living there.||Overall a good value homestay to use as a base to explore kuta and South lombok (which is stunning by the way!) for a few days. Also, they have different style rooms at different prices to suit...
Read moreQurnia and her mum run a really lovely homestay, so close to Kuta, with a staff of gentle, sweet, busy local girls. They will help with anything and they have the best pancake breakfast I've had in Indonesia with all the fruit from their own garden. The rooms are basic, clean and so affordable it's ridiculous. This is not luxury, but a genuine stay with a beautiful Indonesian family in your own private room with bathroom, fans, queen bed or for an even more affordable price, there are small single rooms, also with their own bathroom and double bed, but very simple so don't come huge expectations. There is no a/c and no hot water, but I stayed a week and didn't miss either. The location is perfect as it's just a few km out of Kuta, away from the all night parties and no mosque nearby so there is no noise at night but very central to all the surf breaks. There is a friendly open air but covered communal area to sit and talk to other travellers, you can even use the kitchen and prepare your own meals. Qurnia's girls will do your washing for a small price. At the rate you pay for these rooms, you can't do better. I have left with a new...
Read moreThis is probably the most authentic homestay in Kuta, Lombok. It is owned and run by a local family and their kind, sweet staff. It's surrounded by a beautiful lush tropical garden and is in a great location, just close enough to town but far enough away that the 4.30am/7.30am call to prayer doesn't wake you, unlike most homestay's in town!! It has a sealed road and driveway into the homestay so is not affected by the recent rain as many other homestays have been, trust me if your walking through sludge and mud everyday of your holiday does not sound or look appealing! As like all traditional homestays in Kuta, Lombok there is a private shower with cold water only and toilet in your room, a sink and mirror, a bed and wardrobe that is all kept impeccably clean by the hard working staff. They serve delicious banana pancakes and Lombok coffee for breakfast! There are 3 types of rooms: basic surfer rooms around $100,000IRP , the next rooms are bigger with a fan at around $180,000 and the third type of room has air conditioning and a fan these cost around $250,000. Follow the signs from the big round about to...
