Hotel Santika Makassar — Hotel in Makassar

It was one of bad experience I had with the hotel.Checked in after dinner time due to delayed flight arrival, the welcome drink was too sweet and only served cold I need to mix with hot water as I had a flu at the time. Once entered the room, it was so smelly that I almost throw up, but the luggage boy was so responsive that he opened another room nearby. But when I called to borrow an iron that I had to call few extensions and 5x calls within 1.5 hours that pissed me off until the manager came and bring it for me. The next day during my speech on seminar of 2 days, the ballroom was so noisy due to rooftop cleaners that it's so annoying to the audience. On the 3rd night there, I couldn't sleep as the tenant next to my room speak loud and turn on TV so loud, made me realize the hotel wall is so thin cannot absorb the sound. I also skipped breakfast and meeting snacks as the food were bad taste and for 100 people seminars the snacks always run out before I had a chance to take one. Overall, not a satisfactory experience at all. If I was not invited to stay 4 free, dfinitely will not go back...

I have stayed at Hotel Santika for over 2 months of nights from Nov 2018 to April 2019 and they continue to do the very best to ensure a great stay. All staff are very professional and helpful at all times, they go out of their way to assist. The food in the main restaurant (mainly use it for breakfast) is always a good selection and good quality. This time around I was using the meeting rooms for training, although the room allocated is showing its age and also the equipment, the setup and support staff did a great job. The only concern and this has been a common issues over my visits is the concern regarding the at times very bad drain smell in the bathrooms in the rooms I have stayed. Overall is good, but for services outside the room you want to use such as laundry, it needs to be asked very clearly to the receptionist, for example in the afternoon I asked for the laundry package, receptionist: say 50k per 5pcs me: if you want to do laundry now, can you? Receptionist: sorry sir it's closed, later tomorrow at 8 p.m., come in the morning, the laundry is finished in the afternoon. Me: oh okay, bro, 50,000 - 5 pcs? thanks.
