Overall opinion:
We liked our stay here. We stayed a couple of nights. In our opinion decent value for the money. Nothing special, but would come again.
Pro’s
Room/homestay looked they same as in the pictures. We were in a room with a balcony with seaside view (which was cool) last bit of the road to the hotel looks beaten but when you get there its nice. Nice garden en walking paths. Cows roaming the nature close by. The nature in the direct 10 meters surrounding the hotel looks less pretty but after that pretty palm trees etc.
We haven't had much contact with the staff but they seemed nice. When we arrived good briefing about the facility’s etc. They have a restaurant( we haven't eaten there so don't know if its good). Also a pool table present.
Nice swimming pool, clean. not too deep though. Good seats/beanbags to chill.
Rack present for wet clothes etc. You can also hang them on the balcony.
Hair dryer present.
Bed was really comfy and clean. Good pillows, nice blanked. Best bed so far for us on penida. There is a (partially broken) mosquito net but we did not need it. Had no flies in the room.
Free water refill at the reception desk.
There is a little bluetooth speaker in the room. Nice touch. Also hot water maker.
No closet present but you do get a little table for your stuff
Air conditioning worked very good. Its a wooden cabin so it takes a little while to get cool. Unit also didn't make that much noise.
Bathroom had soap/shampoo present. Water pressure was good. Hot water present ( for limited time each use )
Quiet place, away from the main road. good for rest. ( depending on other guest of course)
Con’s
Wifi could be better, signal is good but drops a-lot. (Like most places on the island)
The bathroom is outside in this room (which is not really a con but just good to know) so the word “clean” is relative for something that is outside. You have to take a stairs up and down. Stairs is good, not too steep. But people can see you so always bring something to wear if you take a shower etc. Water was a little salty but decent.
The light for the bathroom is on the outside of the room ( as in the entrance, weird placement:p )
Not really a con but its decently far from the main road, getting a scooter is recommended. You could walk sure but i think everything is quite far away. Taxis are expensive if you use them everyday.
For the price its a good hotel, it needs a little renovation here and there though. at one time it was probably gorgeous but now it shows old age a bit. Bathroom shower-head, mirrors etc could do with a proper cleaning/replacement for example. If you are really nit-picky you will find lots of stuff...
Read moreI stayed in room A2 which was a really unique design. You enter at ground level through the bathroom literally first thing u see is the toilets. Walk up the stairs to the bedroom with balcony overlooking the mountains and ocean. Note: there is only 2 rooms with this exact view. There is a 3rd 2 story similar but it faces the pool. The rest of the units are ground level.
The bathroom is open air design of this room. It has a few negatives. Whilst the shower and toilet are out of view from surrounding balcony's from stratigic placed items. If you walk out the shower towards the stairs you will be in view to 1 balcony. Also if you walk up the stairs you are in full view from the reception area pool area and the neighbor with different view has 2 chairs out front facing your stair case to room.
Another negative to the bathroom is if it is raining you will be sitting on the toilet in the rain as the stairs are above you without full cover. To add to this there is a slight roof leak on the outside of this room that management needs to fix. The Aircon water leaks into the stairs which will drip on you whilst sitting on toilet..
I was not a fan of the locks they use to secure your room whilst inside they are very annoying latch style for sliding doors I have never seen before. The main one was broken when I arrived, but they fixed straight away. They are not really that secure and there is no other way to lock your room whilst inside. You could literally place a butter knife through the slot and lift up to unlock both the door to bathroom and bedroom from outside. As a man I'm ok but if I was a solo female traveler I may be nervous. From the outside you lock with a latch and padlock.
Do note the shower has about 15mins of hot water. So if a couple would need to stagger showers if both want hot water.
Pool open 7am-9pm
Staff not available after 9pm and there's a WhatsApp number for any issues.
Free water refill station at reception which is good way of reducing plastic waste!
Overall the stay was very comfortable and would stay again. Aircon was cold, safe worked, price was so cheap for a room of this quality, pool was clean. (with exceptions to above mentioned)
I hope management fix few little issues for...
Read moreI recently stayed at what I can only describe as the worst hotel experience I've had in Nusa Penida. The issues began with cleanliness of my room, with noticeable dirt and fungus. The doors didn’t lock properly, raising serious safety concerns, especially for women traveling alone.
It was also clear that the hotel staff had little regard for guest comfort or safety. When I raised concerns, their response was unprofessional and abusive. Not only did they use offensive language, but they also seemed to instigate fights rather than address complaints.
For Indian travelers, we experienced racism which is unacceptable.
There were additional problems, such as the presence of worms and lizards in the room, creating an unsettling environment. To make matters worse, the water quality was low and the hotel didn’t offer any food, with no nearby restaurants within a 2.3-kilometer radius.
Further the positive reviews on various platforms seem suspiciously written by the hotel itself, which raises doubts about their authenticity. I strongly advise against staying here.
In response to the owner's reply, I would like to clarify that my stay was with my spouse only, and we were not part of any group. I'm unsure what they are referring to or if they are using a bot system to reply as I see the owner adding the same response to everyone . Regarding the noise, I observed their staff shouting at customers and struggling for 10-15 minutes to fix broken doors, which suggests that only a few guests might stay given this level of service. Additionally, concerning the food, I was informed that only steamed rice and omelettes were available, and we were advised to manage with that.
The staff seems to be inadequately trained and lacking in proper customer service skills. Additionally, the owner's refusal to accept feedback and their rude demeanor likely contribute to the staff's arrogance towards guests.
*since you are clarifying everything, can you also clarify on the passport theft that happened at your hotel? This caused a lot of inconvenience the couple and had to extend their stay at Bali due to not...
