Guys no complaints about this restaurant in particular but definitely would like to bring to the attention of an incident which I recently faced. This place was a part of our nusa penida package for lunch. We arrived and everything seemed vibrant and fun. It's overlooking the sea and nice place to chill out. Post our lunch we went for a dip in the beach and when I returned I asked the staff where would I get the towels from..so the person there directed me to a place and I picked the towels to dry myself. Upon returning I placed the towel in the space where everyone was keeping it and two ladies came yelling and shouting on top of their lungs saying that why did u use our towels. I tried to explain to them saying that one of the staff there informed me so I took it. She was like no you have to pay me 50000 per towel usage and why did you use it blah blah and shouting on top of her voice. I told her to relax and said that I unknowingly took it and didn't know that this so called towel place belongs to another owner and not the virgin beach restaurant property. There was no signboard no cost or charges displayed..how would I know that it was two different shops. She and her assistants just kept screaming saying that how can use it..you either pay us the money to use the towel or get it laundry. I was really surprised with her behaviour and attitude as all she kept saying was pay her 100k for 2 towels just cause I unknowingly used it. She was not able to calm down nor was polite and kept screaming so I informed her to call her manager and to my surprise she was the manager with no basic etiquette to handle customers or guests.. my whole bali trip was amazing but this lady attitude was all about money. I refused to pay and she said I was having attitude. She also admitted that she saw me taking the towels. So my question to her was y didn't she stop me or tell me that cost of using the towels was 50k each. She was so annoying and didn't let us leave without paying. In the end out of charity I went ahead and paid her 100k for using the towels which was her whole intention of getting the money and cheating innocent customers like us. My advice or suggestion would be for her to have a board displaying the charges for towel usage so that in future no one gets cheated. We didn't mind paying but her yelling and blaming us for no reason was highly...
Read moreDisgusting customer service.
I will preface by saying that the place decor and views are amazing. Feels like a tropical paradise; louging while watching the blue sea, with breeze and sun atmosphere. However, all of that heaven could not rinse the disgusting after-taste of how their servers treat customers.
I ordered their "Big Breakfast" that is described and pictured in the menu as having a decent chunks of the mouth-watering stuff. A quarter plateful of grilled bacon, another quarter plate of grilled mushroom chunks (sliced halfs), eggs and grilled tomatoes.
In reality, they substituted the chunks of grilled mushroom into mini diced mushrooms in a sad omelette. To add to the disappointment, they swapped the 1/4 plateful of grilled bacon with two pathetic tablespoons of lettuce and some carrots.
Upon realising this, I told the server and several waitress about the significant discrepancy. The waitress and bar supervisor fumbled among themselves for a few minutes and told me the dumbest lie to cover their mistake. Their words were " We assumed you don't eat bacon for religious reasons".
I will have to explain why the lie they pass off as "reasoning" is both pathetic and disrespectful:
the waiter came up with that assumption himself, wasn't the burden of proof clearly on him? A simple question to me would have sufficed. We speak the same exact language so there's no communication barrier between us, merely negligence on his part
if I really have that restriction, why on earth would I even order that dish in the first place? They straight up assume that I'm so incapable of thinking that they should make the decisions FOR me and that's really disrespectful
In the end, they did agree to cancel their own faulty order but refused to admit that what they served me is clearly not what's shown and written in their own menu. They prioritise being ""correct "" for the sake of saving their ego. It would havee been much more professional had the restaurant staffs simply accepted their own internal mistakes instead of covering their mistakes with really pathetic lies, which only children would believe.
In conclusion, good view, disgusting...
Read moreThis is SUCH a nice location. Awesome place, many different choices of seating, awesome lighting, beautifully decorated and adventurously designed. Super nice staff also - and they are not at all the reason for that the review is of only 3 out of 5 stars.
The reason for that is simply the relation between how much you pay for food/drinks - and what you get. Most of the meals of the same nature and quantity as this one that we've eaten on our so far 2 weeks of vacation on Indonesia, we haven't paid half as much as we paid here. With these prices you would expect the food to be outstanding, but it is sadly not. Drinks were mostly exactly as expected, the bartender knew his stuff, and as I said, the waitresses did nothing wrong at all. This is the reason for why I'm saying this with love - the prices are the reason for why the place is not full of people. With this location and staff you could do so much more. What if there were happy hours with discount on drinks? Evenings with karaoke, ladies night or simply a guy on a guitar who played live music? With a little advertising at the harbour, backpackers would flow to the place, as it is also not super far away. I know the things I'm suggesting is also costly, but I think it's more expensive to have as few visitors as there are right now. I really hope managers or other people in charge of this place are looking at the reviews, please know that you would have something really nice going on here if there were perks such as these. The place is already perfect for it, it's just the people that are missing. I hope I'll come back in a couple of years and see the place at its full potential. Love to you, and hope to see...
