Villa Cahaya was the best accommodation we stayed in during our six-week visit to Bali. It is in an excellent location and is worthy of a high recommendation.||Perched amidst the lush green rice fields, Villa Cahaya is a mere stone's throw from the bustling centre of Ubud. It's a peaceful retreat, a short walk from many eateries and the local Ubud Yoga schools. My wife visited a nearby retreat, which was well-priced and offered a range of yoga and meditation sessions. ||Villa Cahaya offers a variety of accommodation options. We opted for a first-floor villa with breathtaking views. The villa, a recent addition, was impeccably clean and well-equipped, providing everything we needed for our stay. Although we didn't indulge, the spacious bathroom had a bath with a fantastic view. The linen and other amenities were all fresh and spotlessly clean, ensuring a comfortable and hygienic stay. Our room was serviced daily. ||We found that Villa Cahaya is a collection of bespoke small villas. They surround a beautiful and, again, spotlessly clean swimming pool. With full access to the Balinese sun, this was a highlight, as most villas we have stayed in come with some blind spots. The focal point for Villa Cahaya is the two-story 'Restu'. It is from here that the most beautiful food is served. ||The food was easily a highlight of our stay. We had a fantastic array of options to satisfy anyone, and the food was made with the freshest ingredients. After visiting the nearby fitness centre, even my voracious appetite was catered for. My favourite breakfast items included coffee, fresh watermelon juice, a local omelette and a fruit platter. That kept me well-fed for the rest of the day until dinner at a nearby restaurant. ||The service at Villa Cahaya is first-class. The staff are friendly, and nothing is too much trouble. I was given excellent advice and support accessing local tourist highlights. The team at the villa even arranged transport, laundry, and a couple's massage at the top of their Restu, overlooking the rice fields, for a fantastic price. Our highlight was the support we received to learn basic Balinese phrases and greetings. ||In conclusion, Villa Cahaya is fabulous value for money. It is very well-priced, high-quality accommodation, which I recommend to anyone. We shall revisit this little gem...
Read moreI donât think Iâve ever enjoyed staying somewhere as much as I enjoyed my 3 nights here. Even when I was disappointed by a nearby waterfall I could come back here and barely believe itâs real. Being out here does come with creepy crawlies but I just sat for 2 hours watching the monkeys from the pool (which when we got back they were using to cool down) and you canât have one without the other. The day staff are amazing and super helpful. Thereâs a great booklet in the villa that explains the local area and also the animals you will encounter in and around your villa. Itâs just amazing. It didnât matter that it was out of town either. We were glad to be out of the mayhem. There are plenty of ways to get into town. We walked one night, took grab taxis others and used the scooters they rent here too. Already dreaming of returning next year. We stayed in Villa 3 called Sakura. What a view. UPDATE- A monkey just came and took a drink out of our pool and...
Read moreComfortable beds, great views over the rice fields, lovely swimming pool x 2, such friendly staff, perfect breakfast, good air-con and fan, very flexible in times to eat. Great airport pickup and return service. perfect room service each day. Is about 15 minute walk to the main street in town, but the view each time is so uplifting, and some good eating or drink shops on the pathway. A few early leaving tour days and they made sure we got soft drinks on return. So good to be just a short walk away from the hustle and bustle in the main street in town. Highly recommend you stay for at least a few nights (though our 10 nights were perfect though some days the third walk into town was a bit much (But cheap bike service is available all over Ubud if you don't want to walk too much). Great bike pick up on arrival / departure to the main street for your taxi t/ from the airport. Every service you might want you can get. Highly...
