Sandhya Villa — Hotel in Pulau Bali

This was a really disappointing experience.

Stayed at one of the Sandhya Villas (there are several in a complex) together with my fiancée and our baby. I would not recommend it to anyone. The pictures look great, and supposedly you have “butler service” included. The reality however is that the villas are old and poorly maintained, and look far from as nice as the pics. Peeling wallpaper, old, noisy and poorly working aircon, a water cooler that looks to be from the 80’s. The lights in the pool are not working, ice machine - not working, a complete kitchen for cooking - not available. And I can go on. In addition the villa is dirty. It seems it hasn’t been cleaned properly in a looong time. Bedsheet and towels look like they were probably white at some point in time - now they’re somewhere between grey and yellow.

The butler service - non existent. The staff cleans the villa and the pool, and may help you call a taxi, that’s all. When they did the dishes they deliberately chose not to clean out baby’s bottles and spoons as they were not part of the villa equipment.

Also, you had to ask for everything and every time you needed something it was a struggle. The villa has a coffee machine that runs in capsules not available in any supermarket in Canggu. You supposedly get capsules from staff. They held on to the capsules like they were gold. Ridiculous really that you should have to nag and beg to be able to make yourself a cup of coffee Ina USD 300 per night place...

Also I asked them for help with renting a baby cot and playpen. They quoted me a price almost double that of the most expensive bali baby equipment suppliers you can find with a google search. Probably were looking to make a margin for themselves. Not very butler-like...

I would stay away from this place - much better available that gives value for money. I’ve seen other people giving it pretty good reviews - can only assume they have very limited experience of what staying at a really good villa in...

I can't tell you enough how let down I was at the state of this Villa. I put my family up in this Villa as it was their first time to the area and I wanted them to stay in a lovely villa, I can't believe we paid for this place!||||Where do I start? ||- Bathrooms and toilets disgusting, not clean or maintained at all!||- Gardens unkept and littered||- wall paper was old and dated and falling off all the walls and where they had been put back up had been done roughly with no care.||- the taps didn't work right in the bathrooms||- the beds where hard and bedrooms un-inviting and poorly cleaned and rundown||- Townes and linen had holes or stains||- Mould on the tiles/pebbles near the pool area||- Mirrors broken or filthy||-The top step in this Villa was broken and moved when you stepped on it being very dangerous||- The couch outside was old and dirty, it was itchy to sit on and smelt of dampness||- The kitchen was also poorly maintained||- the aircon leaked||- The fan was covered in dirty and you wouldn't dare turn it on (photo attached)||- There is no shower inside, and the one outside is dirty and your fighting the mozzies to get a quick shower. Horrible to come home to at night and need to stand outside to get washed.||||If I had seen the property earlier I would have taken my family out straight away, they didn't want to trouble me by telling me how bad it was but they were very happy to leave. It was not the gorgeous villa they make out it to be.||||Do not be fooled by good reviews, look at the dates and see the photos they have added. ||||I contacted the manager after seeing the property and listed all the above, I got no reply. I wouldn't have paid but the money had already been taken. I am appalled that this cost me over $1000 when I wouldn't of spend $10 here.||||Take a look at the photos attached... This villa looked like it had not been seen...
