Usually, I’m not the type of person who easily leaves bad reviews (or gets emotional), but I feel the need to write this so that the OWNER or someone mature and rational enough can take my words seriously.
We came here for the Halloween party, really excited because all of our friends were there. I personally was on the guest list, and my partner friend (which is a male) had a table reservation and was already waiting for us inside. At first, everything went smoothly, the female staff was polite and gave me a positive impression.
Since I needed to let my male friend in which he need to use his table invitation, I asked the staff nicely, “Where should I go if we already have a table reservation?”
She kindly explained the area, and I asked, “Can I go there so I can make sure my friend can get in? But if not, it’s okay.” She clearly said it was fine, i can comeback directly after that and she is agreed, even accompanied me.
When I got there, i ask to a guy in a red outfit with glasses about our reservations and he said that since we are late we cannot get in again and told me the entire damn venue was already full, and that even with a table reservation, we couldn’t enter unless we paid for the entrance.
Alright. We agreed to pay. He said it would be around 1 million-something. Since the card was with our friend, I went back to the lady who had accompanied me earlier to confirm regarding the table issue she said we can get in but we need to wait like 15 or 20 minutes since the venue is full which is slight difference from what that boy tell me.
To make sure, i ask her about the entrance price. Then she told me the price for local males was 750k. This made me suspicious why were we being quoted two different prices? Are you trying to scam us?
Still, I stayed calm, thinking maybe they were just tired or not communicating clearly to each other.
She then said to me, “Since I already scanned you, you can go in directly.” But as I was about to enter, a chubby white man wearing all black and an ugly snapback stopped me and told me to wait in line again which was already quite long.
I explained that the lady had already scanned me and allowed me to go directly, but he insisted I was cutting the line and said it wasn’t fair to the guests behind me.
What made me really upset was that the lady (the one who had just allowed me in) stayed completely silent. She just stood there holding her tablet, pretending it wasn’t her problem.
Her name tag said “Dini.” At that point, I felt so frustrated for all the behaviour that I decided to leave immediately. Oh, Haikal was so nice, he help me a lot; especially with my friends jacket that i need to put on the lost and found as i CANNOT reach my friend inside....
Read morePROs: The Ina Ré restaurant offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere with a stylish ambiance, though it leans towards being quite dimly lit. Huge parking spaces. The Ina Ré Seafood Paella was well-prepared, but I found the bottom lacking that desired crispiness [no soccarat]. It features generously sized snapper and prawn toppings, but it seems odd to pair them with only small cheap clams. Since it cost much more pricey compared to other Mediterranean restaurants in the neighborhood, I asked whether they use saffron or not, the waitress had no idea. The braised pork belly cracklings were satisfactory, yet the portion size felt a bit stingy for the price of 250K. On a positive note, the shiitake and porcini croquettes were simple yet delicious, making them a good value and the true hero on the table that night. Desserts at Cafe Kitsune are pretty lit but on the pricier side, you can find more budget-friendly options at places like 7A 7PM, Baked, or Braud. They have ceiling fans in their café, which means that if you buy gelato or ice cream, it will melt in seconds.
CONs: However, our experience was marred by a few issues. Despite being two diners ordering three courses, we were seated at a tiny table that made us anxious about spilling our food and glasses. There was no effort from the staff to offer us a larger table, even though the restaurant was empty at that time (around 18 PMish). Additionally, we were given only 1.5 hours to finish our meal, prompting us to leave early—around 7pm—rather than risk being rushed. The prices felt more aligned with resort dining in Nusa Dua or Seminyak, which makes it more appealing to choose resorts that offer similar pricing without the constraints of table size and time limits. Also, it’s worth noting that shoes are required, which could be a hassle especially for foreigners. The waiter and waitress came by our table a bit way too often, which made it hard for us to enjoy our conversation and meal. Also, just a heads up, the mineral water here isn't...
Read moreShort story: minimum spending required for restaurant seating, limiting dress code, too many petty rules, overpriced food and very small menu. Long story: Unfortunately a very awkward and limited experience if you’re looking for a place to work during the day. The Cafe space was full so I had to talk to both the restaurant hostess and the cafe to convince them to let me bring a matcha to the restaurant side in a glass instead of plastic. They said there would be a minimum order of one main and one drink, I said okay fine. Once I sat down and got comfortable I made my first order, but they had to check with management to ask if it was okay if I ordered two sides instead of a main. Shortly after ordering a woman came and informed me that I was not allowed to wear a bathing suit at the restaurant. (I was wearing a bikini top and white cargo denim). She asked me to cover up with my head scarf which would have been very hot for the semi-outdoor environment. Also, the venue literally has a pool, so this didn’t make sense to me. Mind you there was literally nobody in that area of the restaurant at this time. I cancelled my food order and left. I felt that the environment was really uncomfortable and it felt stifling to just be able to sit down, drink a matcha, order some food, and wear a bikini top by the pool while I work. That’s what is Bali for, am I right?? Upsides are the staff was kind, it’s not their fault there are dumb rules they are asked to enforce, the matcha was good, and the WiFi speeds were fast. I won’t be coming back. Many other better places to work during the day in Bali. Hope management takes these unpleasant customer experiences into consideration. Def pull up if you don’t mind a pretentious nickle and diming experience. Muda next door has a same quality matcha for 35k instead of the 92k I was...
