To be honest this hotel felt more pretentious than aesthetic and I fell for it when looking through marketing photos and their social media platform.
The rooms had too many mirrors which was so weird, there were SO MANY switches and they did not work intuitively, the sink was located NEAR THE BED and there was no sink in the toilet? (LOL). The TV also randomly turned on and off when I was sleeping at night. My toilet bowl was not working as well (the bidet).
It was very noisy also because there are so many families with kids staying here who are constantly screaming and just hogging the entire pool all afternoon/evening.
Let’s not even get started on the absolutely ridiculous long walkway and steps just to get to the hotel lobby for check in. When I arrived even, there was NO hotel staff and I had to wait for like 5-10 mins for someone to appear to check me in (this was a constant problem when you notice the staff don’t stay in the lobby and they just disappear and appear only when you WhatsApp them). When I left my luggage with them after check out, there was no luggage security as well. They left my bag (which I painfully reminded them to keep safe because of my laptop - and they said they WOULD) and my luggage out in the open, exposed to everyone without anybody guarding it. When I came back, I did not see any staff again at all. Should they not have a luggage storage area at the very least? Nobody was around until I texted and questioned about my luggage being in the open 10 mins later. If there is no one, they should at least put the baggage somewhere safe and out of sight.
This hotel is just about aesthetics and zero practicality. But even aesthetics wise it’s just superficial and lacking substance. Some areas are only accessible by LIFT and the LIFT can take forever to come because it is a manually operated lift lol.
Also location wise it’s not great. Nothing much around. The cicadas are incredibly noisy at night when sleeping and selected random times of the day - more so than other Ubud hotels.
With so many hotels, you’d find one with more experienced service staff, amenities, location especially for Bali standards. This is a poorly designed hotel in all aspects of practicality, comfort and logic.
———————— Further update from their reply to my review:
“We are sorry for the unfortunate situation where we couldn’t accommodate a late check-out or provide a shower room due to availability, and we regret any discomfort this caused.”
I was totally fine with this, and I understood that you were not able to provide a late checkout which is totally fine - FYI this did not add to my negative experience, and that’s why I did not mention this in my review because it did not impact my overall review of...
Read moreIt’s a nice boutique hotel located in Ubud. The room is pretty spacious (can fit three people, the bed is that big) but the laundry could be better. I found dark spots on my towel and also the some dirty spot on the bedsheets.
The bathroom is nice. They used those japanese toilet with bidet and the shower is huge. I also love how there are plenty of space to put your own facesoap / shampoo / conditionter. Also they don’t provide conditioner, so do bring your own and the bottles that they used have dark colour with embedded font, making it even harder to differentiate which one is soap and which one is shampoo (or hand lotion).
There is no telephone provided so if you need anything, you gotta whatsapp their guest relation number but they do respond really fast. The tv is also confusing to navigate and they were planted kinda off center from the frame so for those that are a little bit detailed might find it off putting.
Food and beverage were just fine. The pool area and the pool itself is nice but need more comfortable sofas for people to relax and just doze off. Also some mosquitos repellant - the coil version or something - would be nice. The oil spray doesnt really work.
And some more healthier snack would be good too, to accompany the empty mouth while relaxing by the pool.
Overall it is perfect for a short getaway stay. Andre martin did a nice design but again… as I have seen with some architect, they emphasis more on aesthetic rather than function. Better to arrive during the day as it got really dark during the night. From dropoff area to the check in area got kinda confusing during the night and I don’t even want to think about their protocol during the rainy season / day.
But i do like the big dark door for the room, although it felt semi dangerous when someone knock onto your room and you can’t check who it is before opening since it doesnt have a pinhole. And it close kinda slowly. You cant pull it towards you when you are outside the...
Read moreThe location is on Jl. Roi Cok Pudak is in the same area as Ramu Kitchen (quite famous among tourists), not too far from Ubud City Center. Because check-in was late, I was immediately given the key and apparently given the room closest to the lobby. Because we had to fly early in the morning, we asked for breakfast to be delivered to our room, but they cant. Usually it's in the box. I asked for service at 04.30 but the receptionist misheard 06.30. Finally at 04.30 I asked for it to be boxed as is. So it's 05.30 but it's pretty good and you still get fried rice and pastry and juice.
Titik dua Ubud is a kind of boutique hotel, so to open the room door you tap on the wall, then the door is camouflaged by pushing it like that. The room has a minimalist interior. The TV is a smart TV, the wifi service is also good. The 2x2 king sized mattress with 4 pillows is quite comfortable. There is a balcony overlooking the swimming pool. The unique tea is provided in a chemical test tube type. Mineral water is provided in glass bottles and can be refilled for free. There are harman Kardon speakers in the room. There are also tables and chairs that can be folded. When we arrived at our room we were given a welcome drink of orange juice and cold towels.
Standard bathroom, wash basin, shower, closet. The toilet looks like a 5 star because it has buttons and a heater. For shower only hand shower. The soap smells delicious. Unfortunately the material in the bathroom uses iron so there are parts that are rusty.
Hotel facilities include a restaurant, swimming pool. The lift doesn't use the lift as usual. The swimming pool is quite aesthetic
Because our breakfast was take away, everyone got bacon fried rice, pastry and orange juice. Even though it's in a box, the portions are large and filling. For a good taste. You can see the complete menu in the photo, but if you want it early in the morning and take it away, the menu is very limited, not every menu...
