Overall, had an acceptable dining experience at this branch. We reached at about 3.30pm and the restaurant was largely empty save for 2 tables. The waitress informed that the kulit guling has been sold out hence opted for kulit goreng instead. I think the goreng version is a lot better hence no complaints. Service was good with constant smiles from the waitress. A few issues that I see with this branch:-
Flies. There were quite a number of flies inside the restaurant despite it being air conditioned. I see that the front glass door to be constantly open hence could be where the flies penetrate in. This was a nuisance when we dined. Cash only restaurant. No other form of payment is accepted. Smokers. There was a table of gentlemen who were smoking inside the restaurant. I find this a bit shocking for an air conditioned establishment.
The saving grace was the food. It remained good thru the years hence weighing out the issues which I have highlighted above. This branch seems to be the better one of the chain hence I hope the proprietor would ensure it lives up to what is is...
Β Β Β Read moreI was overcharged by the waiter. I noticed they have two different order form in the end, one is the usual prices and the other one is more expensive. I came with a group of 25 people during lunch time. It was not that crowded. I took a menu book, but then a lady waitress grabbed the menu in my hands and gave me the new one which is more expensive. I complained but the lady said the price had raised since last week. I ordered 25pax of nasi babi special but it took more than 45 minutes for the food to come. When i paid, i saw order form that stated the origin price, which was cheaper. I complained but again the waitresses said that was old price. Funny. To add that bad experience, the taste was not as expected, and the service was overall bad and slow. This is my first experience having bad service and attitude in a famous restaurant in Bali. Hope it won't...
Β Β Β Read moreWe visited Warung Babi Guling Ibu Oka 2 during our trip to Ubud and it truly lived up to the hype. The roasted pig was incredibly crispy on the outside and tender inside, full of rich Balinese spices. The set meal came with rice, spicy sambal, blood sausage, and vegetables, flavorful and satisfying. Itβs a casual, local-style eatery with quick service. Go early, as the best parts like the crackling skin sell out fast. A must-try spot for authentic Balinese food lovers!
