As I remember, this is my first time for having a review of a hotel. Hopefully it will be noted by the hotel and other upcoming visitors. I marked 2 stars only for the hotel according the location only.
Company booked this hotel for 3 nights during my duty trip since the regular 4 stars hotel we usually book was full. My experience? Well, first impression was good. The room was big, but after that I feel so unsatisfy. I only put 5 stars for the location. The service was unpleasant. I left my room to be cleaned on day 1 morning, but when I arrived, I saw the cup still left dirty with the tea stain (which I made night before) still remain available and all the cup position was still the same. I didnt recognize the cleanliness of the blanket until I fully opened it. There was still some blood stain (?) and dirty spots. Another bad thing of the room cleanliness, I found pomelo seeds on the carpet until the last day I stayed there. All I mention here means that the cleaning service was not fully works properly. The room was also not soundproof. I can hear the next door room cough. Meanwhile, my next door room (my collague) said he could hear my voice when I made my a phone call.
The worst one was the food service. I took the hotel reservation with breakfast included. I came with 4 stars hotel breakfast expectation which I usually had, and suddenly blown out with the reality. Day 1, I came at around 7.30AM and a lot of the dishes is EMPTY, yes, nothing to eat. I remembered asking the officer, "what should we eat, all empty?" And she said, "it is still on refilling". I walked around and realized that it was defenitely not 4 stars breakfast. They only serve minimalist menu, white rice, fried rice, porridge (without chicken), veggie soup, tofu, tempeh, 2 kind of sambals, super dry pasta (without any topping and sauce), half cut sausages, kind of Sri Rti breads (white and wheat bread), croissant, snacks and they only served watermelon and papaya for the fruit. They didnt put the spoon and forks in each table so we need to look after it. The tea and coffee were served with huge alumunium heater we usually found in an internal meeting. The omelete they made was sooooo small and dry. I think this was the tiny hotel omelete I ever had. The day 2, all the same but even getting worst. I found the egg stall could not do the sunny side up for me. The chef said, it wasnt the day, like COME ON, really? Did they on limited budget for serving breakfast so we couldnt have the whole egg called sunny side up only. Suddenly, I also realized that the breakfast didnt serve any meat, such as chicken, meat, fish. They only served preservative meat such as sausage and smoke beef.
That's all. Hopefully the hotel read this note and gladly improve their service since they are 4...
Read moreI will not stay in this hotel again until they fix everything! I booked this hotel one day before i stay, because all the 4star hotels in semarang was full booked. I booked 2 rooms for 1 day with room rate Rp 1.000.000/room include breakfast.
Room Facilities: the room is quite spacious, there is a desk and sofa too. Unfortunately the walls of the room had lots of graffiti and the sofa was dirty too, the bathroom couldn't be locked, the room handle was also broken several times i locked inside, i try to contacted the receptionist more than 5 times without being answered, the bathroom was clean and complete with shampoo, soap, toothbrush and hairdryer.
Hotel Facilities: attractive hotel lobby for photo spots, nice infinity pool in the morning, at night there are no lights at all in the pool. Fitness area was complete equipment. For pool and fitness, combine into one apartment Marquise de Lafayette. There are 2 elevators and they are fast but inside it is very hot and there is no AC on.
Breakfast: they said breakfast closes at 10, we arrived there at 9, all the food was gone and there were no refills, even though there were still many hotel guests arriving and feeling disappointed. starting from dirty food displays, unattractive food menus, dry porridge, the sugar ran out and there was no immediate refill and also when i asked for chili sauce they answered out of stock, I asked "is there a dimsum refill?" The staff answered "yes" until I waited 20 minutes for no food and drink refills. The weirdest thing before 10 am the staff had already taken food on their plates for their breakfast. As a hotelier, as long as I know you have to close the restaurant first after 10 am and then you can take your breakfast in the kitchen, not in front of the guest.
Staff: at the first time in receptionist I thought all the staff will responsible to all the guest, but I think wrong, at 8pm i was locked in the room because the handle was broken so i call the receptionist more than 5 times no one answered the phone and helping me until i forced it open. No one lifeguard standby in the swimming pool. In the restaurant the staff got the breakfast in front of the guest before closing time. In the morning i locked in the room again and i asked for technician to fixed the door but i need to wait 30 minutes and trying to calling twice until the technician came.
Parking area: the parking area has a very narrow road width for large cars and the incline is very high and steep, the car park is large enough to accommodate several cars, a little confusing because there are 3 lifts in the parking area to get to the hotel,...
Read moreWe stayed here for 3 nights and these are our findings.
✓ Check in : Rapid ✓ Kids-friendly : The reason we chose this hotel because of its well-built outdoor playground. ✓ Location : Not so far from the city center, walking distance shopping center & convenient store. ✓ Staff : Friendly, polite ✓ Room : It was very hot in the lift (not sure if the aircon was broken). No soundproof (even in the 15th floor we heard noises from the street and yes we heard people chat outside our room) ; limited clothes hangers (only 3); no socket in the toilet to plug a hairdryer, very slippery floor after shower but water flow is good, stained bath mat; peeling paint on the wall; the sofa sheet is missing its zipper; mattress is comfortable but the color of the pillow sheets don't match with the bed sheet.
Breakfast: I've been travelling to many countries, staying in many different hotels in Indonesia and I must say that it was the worst 4 star hotel's breakfast in Indonesia which I've ever experienced. Poor variety & Very limited amount of each menu. They measured the size of the omelette; the croissant was very oily & too soft; bakpao was always cold & hard; rice porridge was so watery, no taste; No Cold cuts & cheese for making sandwiches; Each food which suppose to be served warm was always cold & displayed in a very limited amount (ARE YOU KIDDING US??); NO CEREAL / OATMEAL (I had to buy and bring the cereal for my kid for the breakfast in a 4 star hotel?!); Pancakes was chewy & a bit sour; Hard bread pudding; COLD Plain rice and other traditional menu which were displayed in open clay pots with a very limited amount of each menu (OMG I don't know if they even think about the hygiene). Breakfast was such a nightmare. I was not the only person who complained about the breakfast, I heard many others did the same everyday during our stay. What a pity supervisor/ staff should hear and handle guest's complaints every morning!
Would I stay again here? No, not in the same circumstances as what we experienced. Would I recommend this hotel? No, not in the same circumstances as what we experienced.
I appreciate the efforts from your F&B supervisor & other staff. I hope the hotel management will evaluate & improve what need to...
