Camping la Mariposa — Hotel in Alghero

I stayed with a friend for a week from the 24th of June 2017.||From the moment we arrived the service was excellent. We had booked a mobile home and were shown the way to it in person by a member of staff. Later we met Titti who is usually on reception and for the whole of our stay she was informative helpful and just a real treasure and was always friendly she is amazing. it is a family run site and all the family members were always friendly when we went into their shop or ate at the pizzeria||the mobile home number 4 was fantastic with much needed air conditioning (got to 38 degrees) and it looked out over the the beach. the site owned beach was 3 mins walk and was cleaned and raked every day. There is a lot of seaweed but this was always cleared. location was fabulous next to the beach and a great flat walk to the town of Alghero. The pizzeria on site uses a big il forno and great pizzas come from it.||We like everything about this holiday the town good and we found two lovely restaurants Nautilus and another on the bastions. We ate mostly in the evening at a restaurant close to the campsite and right on the beach "Rafel" they were also really friendly and the food is excellent. ||The only downside was that we couldn't do a marine boat trip to see whales with marine biologists that we wanted because a south wind came up and no boats could leave the harbour, as sea further out was too rough. Ah well, will just have to go back (and i will) and would definitely stay at the campsite again it was great very clean and really well organised. ||Rebecca...

This review is based on us having a camping car. We were looking for a place to stay around Alghero, this was our first destination to try. Wanted to see if there were any spots left.

Lady at the reception doesn't speak very well English but we managed to get the essential information. However, when we were told which areas were free, we were very disappointed.

The camping spots are not numbered. The place is disorganized with many people camping everywhere. There were camping cars parked on the road, right outside the spots occupied by tents and other camping cars. There was very little space and the map is very confusing because the area has no signs, spots are not numbered, and it's very small. The beach was crowded and when we wanted to leave because there was literally no space left, the woman offered the empty piece of land RIGHT at the entrance, in front of reception where everyone parked and fell in line for booking, inquiries, etc... We were misinformed and they wanted to squeeze in as many people possible in their already crowded campsite. Bad experience, thankfully we left.

I recommend going to Laguna Blu which is only a 3-5 minute drive from this campsite. You'll see signs everywhere and the place is easy to access anyway. Much more spacious, better staff, better amenities, and much much better organization of camping spots, mobile homes, making sure you don't feel claustrophobic unlike this...

Posizione strategica di questo campeggio immerso nel verde fronte mare. Per chi non lo sa, è un campeggio più che storico, il primo sorto in tutta la Sardegna nel 1953. Dista circa 2,5 km dal Centro storico su via Lido lungomare che arriva diretta al porto e ai bastioni dell' Alghero catalana. Io ho usato la pista ciclabile, comodissima e stra-piacevole. A tal proposito ho noleggiato la bicicletta nel servizio bike/moto direttamente all'interno del campeggio. Marco, il ragazzo del servizio, è stato davvero disponibile (oltre che il suo sorriso sincero è sempre una bella accoglienza) e mi è venuto incontro rispetto ad esigenze personali di restituzione del mezzo etc. Il camping è organizzato per accogliere ospiti di diversa tipologia, da quelli con tenda, chi alloggia in bungalow, casette mobili e offre molti posti per i camper... Io ho alloggiato da sola in una cameretta spartana con solo letto (2 letti a castello), armadio e comodino. Per le mie esigenze è andata più che bene. Lo spazio comune dei servizi igienici (toilette, docce, lavabi, lavatoi x bucato, lavelli per i piatti, lavapiedi) è veramente molto ampio e ben organizzato, con tante tettoie x riparare dal sole e tanti specchi che tornano utili. Io ho soggiornato nella seconda metà di settembre e ho visto, in tante fasce orarie diverse, addetti alla pulizia dei servizi che ho trovato sempre molto puliti. Il personale tutto del campeggio al check-in e check out è stato molto disponibile e accogliente. Con loro (le ragazze addette) mi sono trovata molto bene. Le uniche note 'negative', a mio avviso sono state: 1) l'assenza di un market interno, tuttavia per me in bici non è stato un problema. A pochi minuti c'è il fornitissimo market di Nonna Isa con attaccato forno/pasticceria con focacce ottime e prezzo fantastico; 2) la caffetteria ha prezzi un po' esosi e poca varietà/fornitura di brioches al mattino. Io ho speso meno e meglio nei caffè, adiacenti al camping, dei bagni fronte mare. Per un bar di un campeggio, a mio avviso dovrebbero avere prezzi più popolari. Invece la pizzeria lavora bene e i prezzi sono giusti. Non ho provato il ristorante. Due note sul verde e sul mare. Il verde del campeggio è un po' selvatico, e allo stesso tempo curato. È un aspetto che ho gradito molto, perché la natura non è ordinata ma appunto selvatica. La spiaggia su cui affaccia il campeggio è quella di San Giovanni, sabbia fine e sul beige chiaro (non bianca come scrivono nei vari siti sul mare di Alghero), l'acqua è quella 'sarda', trasparente!! Vicino al campeggio, raggiungibile anche a piedi in pochi minuti, c'è una spiaggia più rinomata, quella di Maria Pia con pineta alle spalle da cui si accede per arrivare al mare. Certamente è più suggestiva, ma anche molto più frequentata. Io alla fine gli ultimi bagni li ho fatti nella spiaggia di San Giovanni, per me più silenziosa e rilassante. Da non perdere cmq il tramonto dalla Spiaggia di Maria Pia, che oltre ai bastioni è l'altro luogo ideale per vedere il sole che cala. I tramonti sono fantastici! Il Camping non fa animazione, quindi se cercate quel tipo di 'movida', non è i luogo che fa x voi. Io cercavo riposo, relax e benessere, bellezza. Non sono rimasta delusa. Anzi! Ho letto recensioni negative sul campeggio. Credo che dipenda anche dal periodo di soggiorno. La mia permanenza è stata in bassa stagione, c'era certamente meno gente ed era tutto più soft/tranquillo. In una struttura come un campeggio, il mantenimento degli spazi comuni quando c'è l'affollamento è certamente più difficile. Non dimentichiamo che gli ospiti stessi devono essere civili, banalmente anche i rifiuti personali vanno gestiti con responsabilità.. Insomma Alghero è certamente da vedere, il mare è fantastico e il Mariposa è un'ottima scelta 'in natura' per essere sul mare (con due spiagge attaccate) e poco distante dal centro storico x chi, come me, ama natura e...
