Alguer Mia — Restaurant in Alghero

Arrived without a reservation. The waiter told us he was going to check if there was any table available for us. He came back and said they were completed booked until the end of the night, until they closed and suggested us to go to another restaurant nearby. Once we left, another group of 4 people arrived and asked the same as we did as they did not have a reservation. The waiter said he was checking it and told them to wait so they could be seated once a table became available. We went back a few minutes later and there were more people in the Q waiting to be seated. (which does not match with the information he gave us) So, I called the restaurant asking to make a reservation and they told me I should be back in 30 minutes and they had a table for me. - I did not tell the story of the waiter here, just pretended I had not been there before to confirm if the "all night fully booked thing" was real. That was a horrible awful experience from this waiter who probably judged us either by the way we looked or the way we were dressed (casual). We felt so bad! Once we came back to the restaurant, we got our seat as per the booking made on the phone and saw a bunch of people getting seats as well without reservations. Either a miracle happened and tons of bookings were cancelled in a few minutes or the waiter lied to us saying they were fully booked until...

We visited the restaurant in the first hour after opening because we were counting on as much freshly prepared food as possible. There was no big crowd, but we were still a little surprised. The appetizer of dried prosciutto and melon on one side plus the sum of Sardinian meats on the other, convinced. Very delicious. The main dish, which was roasted squid for one person and seafood for two, was far less convincing. The squid was rubbery and tough. The seafood contained fish that was baked exemplarily on the one hand, and significantly overcooked - burned on the other. Similar was the case with the two shrimps that were burned on the hidden side. We also ordered "house wine" which was really average. Sometimes you can judge a restaurant by what kind of house wine they serve. OK, this time it was not the deciding factor and we ignore the wine in the evaluation. We evaluate food. The staff is friendly. Prices...

Ecco la mia valutazione imparziale in base all'esperienza vissuta in questo ristorante algherese. Ogni riferimento ad un noto programma televisivo è del tutto casuale.

Location mediocre. Lo spazio esterno sta sui due lati di una strada a senso unico aperta al traffico con tanto di gas di scarico delle automobili. All'interno, i tavoli sono molto ravvicinati. Ciò rende l'ambiente molto rumoroso e poco gradevole, nonostante l'aria condizionata. L'impressione è che si voglia ammassare il maggior numero di avventori possibile in uno spazio insufficiente, come del resto succede anche in altri locali della città. Con la schiena verso la sala, ho potuto godere della vista di una parete spoglia senza alcun ornamento. Scarno.

Servizio nella media. Diversi addetti si sono occupati del tavolo. Avrei preferito una persona dedicata con cui relazionarmi. La qualità del servizio è stata rovinata dalla protervia del cameriere biondo. Dopo aver risposto al canonico: "Tutto bene ragazzi?" facendogli notare che lo spritz preso nell'attesa dlle pizze era troppo dolce (veramente il peggiore che ricordi), anziché offrire di rimediare o scusarsi mi fa notare che in Sardegna non si può pretendere di trovare uno spritz come si deve. Si potrebbero dire molte cose a questo punto, ma meglio non andare oltre. In generale, ho notato poca attenzione verso il cliente.

Menù al di sotto delle aspettative. L'antipasto misto di pesce 5 referenze, per cui la richiesta è 16euro, non li vale ed è poco originale. Allo stesso prezzo ho trovato antipasti eccezionali in altri locali. La pizza di per sé non è male, ma non eccezionale. L'impasto è equilibrato ma manca di croccantezza, mette sete, ed è poco alveolato. La salsa di pomodoro è molto acida e sembra di scarsa qualità. Per una frutti di mare occorrono ben 13euro. La mia pizza è stata rovinata dalla farina di spolvero bruciata cosparsa sulla parte superiore, come se il forno non fosse pulito. Piccoli grani neri ovunque. Nessun cameriere si è premurato di controllare il tavolo.

Prezzi: per quanto la presenza di turisti possa spingere i prezzi verso l'alto, rispetto alle voci precedenti il prezzo finale risulta troppo alto. Per un antipasto, due pizze, due aperitivi e acqua servono 56€. Il coperto viene 2,50€. Scontrino non pervenuto....
