Ristorante Lido, Pizza al Metro Alghero — Restaurant in Alghero

We were recommended to go here by the owner of our Villa. Never in my life travelling have I experienced such rude service and behavior by the Owner and a couple of the staff. Firstly there was no one there it was on the dot on 7.30pm and it was like we were asking to eat at the Royal Palace the way he treated us, both of us were are very friendly and very well dressed Australians just to paint a picture (both designer on). So it started already by him thinking he is running a Michelin Starred Restaurant not a simple beachside Pizzeria and making out it was such a hassle to give us a table. We then asked the young lady about ordering a bottle of wine, she couldn't understand us so said she would come back with someone to help. Well that never happened and we waited and waited while they all seemed to just talk to themselves. So in the end when she came back we couldn't be bothered asking for wine recommendations and we told her we would order a bottle and so then just ended up ordering water. Their pizza concept is rather good but is let down by poor products and honestly their attitude. When we left I politely went to tell the man (owner) at the front that his staff needed to know about wine and we could not order a bottle thinking he would of course want to know we were happy to spend up to 60 - 80 Euro. He couldn't not of cared less the rudest experience I have ever had in a restaurant in my life and my brother in law owns a Italian Restaurant in Australia. Then practically shoed me out. what a great restaurant! if in alghero i HIGHLY recommend you going here. the service was nice and fast. did not catch the servers name but he was very kind. he asked where we came from and then managed to tell us some drink names in swedish (amazingly pronounced! it’s very hard to pronounce specific words like ”öl” but he sounded like a true swede!). the food and drinks came out fast even though they were in the middle of a dinner rush and it was SO GOOD! we split the 1/2 meter pizza and it was the perfect size for 2 people for dinner! for dessert i had the tiramisu and i would strongly recommend getting that as dessert. overall i had a great experience here. luckily we got seated without a reservation but you might need one if you go here for dinner during...

We planned to have lunch at this restaurant for our entire vacation because of the beautiful view and advertised fresh food. We finally arrived on the last day of our vacation for a farewell lunch. We were immediately disappointed, we chose a table under a palm tree where it was also available since we were with a small child. We sat there for 15 minutes, the staff didn't even notice us, no one came. Finally, an older Italian lady came and kicked us out of the table, saying that it was her table and she comes here every day at 1 pm for lunch. The waitress suddenly appeared behind her back with a menu and was speechless. We finally left and will never visit this restaurant again on another vacation and will not recommend it to anyone.
