Follow The Sun Catania - Rooftop Terrace — Hotel in Catania

I've been backpacking a lot in the last years, Guilia and her place are definitely one of my favorite places. We have been visiting Catania as a couple and we are really happy with our choice. Guilia contacted me a day before our stay, giving us all necessary information I would need for our arrival by car on the next day, regarding parking ect, with very quick response times to my questions. On our arrival, Guilia gave us a map with plenty of her favourite places to go out and visit. There are plenty of bars and restaurants around the castle, which is 5 minutes from Follow the Sun. We visited on a Friday, the place is in a quiet side street close to the castle on the top floor. If it's not some fireworks, we were quite protected from the noise of the city. The place is in perfect condition, it's a very new place, but also their home - so they will always keep it clean. The beds and the room were in perfect condition, I was a little afraid to touch a wall while carrying our luggage. The bathroom was modern and perfectly clean. Hot water was immediately accessible. The obvious highlight of this place is the rooftop terrace. In the morning you have a great view on Etna, in the night onto the Ciesa-Skyline of Catania. Gazda Giulia si soțul ei au încercat sa ne fie utili pe toata durata șederii! Camera noastră era dotata cu lenjerie colorată iar prosoapele gri au avut un miros ce a făcut greu utilizarea lor! Proprietatea dispune de o baie comună iar zona de relaxare nu este pentru oaspeți chiar daca in poze este prezentata ca parte comună cu restul casei. Terasa casei oferă o imagine frumoasa asupra orașului si de ansamblu asupra Etnei. Daca îmi este permis as recomand o lenjerie alba dar si prosoape albe, recomandate intr-o unitate de cazare. Locația nu dispune de parcare iar găsirea unui loc de parcare gratis este greu de realizat in apropierea locație daca providența nu-ți iese în cale. Giulia a fost mereu atenta la orice mișcare chiar si atunci când am ales sa vedem un film cu sonorul la minim am fost sancționați și obligați sa oprim vizionarea lui pe motiv ca deranjam celelalte persoane cazate, mai exact camera vecina. Fac precizarea asta pentru ca a două noapte (camera vecina) ne-a trezit după miezul nopții cu diverse sunete la volum maxim și natural cum ar fi: obiecte trântite (scăpate) pe pardoseală, duș, uși trântite și râsete presărate de muzică fapt de a dus la trezirea noastră obosiți pentru ca am reușit sa adormim la 4 dimineața. Nu am fi fost deranjați dacă măsura nu ar fi fost dubla iar judecata balanței nu ar fi fost subiectiva. A doua zi cu toate că știam, gazda, drăguță a ținut să ne amintească să nu uitam să părăsim locația până în ora 10 ceea ce sa și întâmplat. Ne-am simțit incomod și alungați!! Le mulțumesc amândurora pentru efortul depus. P.S. - Gazda pare dornica doar să câștige fără a oferi ceva mai mult decât o cameră mică dar și mult exces de zel!

The host Giulia and her husband tried to be helpful to us throughout our stay! Our room had colored linens and the gray towels had a smell which made them difficult to use! The property has a shared bathroom and the relaxation area is not for guests, even if in the pictures it is presented as a shared part with the rest of the house. The terrace of the house offers a beautiful view of the city and of Mount Etna. If I am allowed, I would recommend white linen and white towels, recommended in an accommodation unit. The location does not have a parking lot and finding a free parking space near the location is difficult if you are lucky. Giulia was always attentive to any movement, even when we chose to watch a movie with the sound at a minimum, we were sanctioned and forced to stop watching it on the grounds that we were disturbing the other people staying, more precisely the neighboring room. I make this statement because the second night (neighboring room) woke us up after midnight with various sounds at maximum and natural volume such as: objects being slammed (dropped) on the floor, shower, doors slamming and laughter interspersed with music due to it resulted in us waking up tired because we managed to fall asleep at 4 am. We would not have been disturbed if the measure had not been double and the judgment of the balance had not been subjective. The next day, even though we knew, the lovely host kept reminding us to leave the location by 10 o'clock, which happened. We felt uncomfortable and kicked out!! I thank them both for their efforts. We had an amazing stay with Giulia & Paolo! The room and bathroom was very clean and cozy, the rooftop offers a stunning view over Catania. The apartment is located in the best part of Catania with restaurants and bars very close by.
