We recently stayed at Hotel Certaldo as we were getting married in the area at a villa close by and stayed for 2 nights before we checked into our villa. As this was the closest hotel to our venue most of our guests also stayed here. For our 2 nights the staff at the hotel were very welcoming - Giuseppe on the bar served us with drinks and antipasti in the afternoon around the pool and was always very friendly. Fabrizio on the desk was fantastic. He advised our guests on the town Certdalo how to get to the local supermarket and how to get into Certaldo Alto on the Funicular. He also helped booked taxis (Which can be hard to come by at short notice in this area) and booked restaurant reservations for us when required. The hotel is in a great location to walk into the centre and also with a car park those driving surrounding towns of San Gim and Siena are close by. We had 28 guests turn up at the same time and unfortunately at this time the town had just had a power cut! Fabrizio and the other staff had to try check everyone in with no electricity, manual keys and no lift! They were absolutely great helping everyone get into their rooms and helped with their luggage up the stairs - no easy feat in 38 degree heat! They also were able to fit everyone into the restaurant at short notice and the chef was also great. We can't thank you enough and would recommend...
Read moreWe stayed at Hotel Certaldo for three wonderful nights in the lead up to our wedding, and many of our guests also chose to stay at this hotel in the following days. The hotel is beautiful. The light, airy lobby is fresh and modern, and the bedrooms are spacious and full of character. The hotel was absolutely spotless. Our room was cleaned every morning and we had fresh towels and bedsheets daily. I am a fussy sleeper and found the mattress to be very comfortable. We slept like logs every evening! Breakfast was plentiful and there was something for everyone; fresh fruit, pastries, bread, yoghurts, cereal, cold meats and cheeses, coffee, juice and tea, as well as traditional English fry up options such as bacon and sausage. The staff were absolutely lovely. Serena was wonderful and greeted us at breakfast every morning with a smile on her face. She could not do enough for us, and would regularly walk around the pool asking guests if they would like drinks (the aperols are delicious!). Mauro in the afternoons/evenings was equally attentive and would always accompany our drinks orders with cheese, nuts and crisps. All of our guests who stayed at this hotel commented on how lovely it was. Hotel Certaldo played a huge part in our wedding week. It will always hold a special place in our hearts, and we hope to return for our...
Read moreI enjoyed my stay here. Stayed here for a couple of nights. The lady at the desk was incredible. She was very welcoming and accommodating. 2 of the ladies in the breakfast time were incredible. They were very accommodating & attentive.
I personally had no problem with our room. But our friends who came along in another room had an incident where they had to change rooms, and then again a problem with a leak from a higher up floor. So I would advise you to get a room on the highest level. There's an elevator, so no worries.
There is no complimentary water for the room stay. Be aware. But they do give you access to a mini bar where water costs $3euros... but during breakfast, there is fresh juice, tea, water, coffee, etc.
The housekeeping wasn't my favorite... they didn't do our room for 2 nights and would not give us basic essential "shower gel" until the 3rd night. We thought we only had soap & shampoo included until we realized they were either forgetting or didn't give it to us...
The Wifi is great. AC functions well. Love the nature outside. There's a pool and they give you towels. There's free parking on site. Very convenient location. Overall...
