Hotel la Villetta — Hotel in Fiumicino

Could be a lovely little hotel. The owner told me that he had only been there since September. Curb appeal very poor looks deserted. My ETA was between 4/5pm when shuttle dropped me off I couldn't get answer at gat. After 10mins I walked down road to another hotel and they contacted the proprietor for me who said that he was expecting me. I legged it back to still not get answer at gate. The proprietor pulled up in car then let me in and did check in he booked a taxi for next morning to airport shoes me to the breakfast room. I made a cuppa had to ask for milk. He said that I could get my own breakfast in morning as I would be leaving before 7.30. There was a good range of food for breakfast but no fridge with milk or butter. So dry cereal dry toast and black tea. When I returned to my room after breakfast the key card wouldn't work and I was locked out. Panic stations. No emergency contact to the proprietor. Thankfully he arrived at 7am so I could catch my taxi at 7.7.15 the room was neat and clean...

No hot water. No blankets on the beds. Should have stayed somewhere else. ||We chose this hotel because of its proximity to the Rome airport (FCO). The room was similar to grandma’s attic crossed with a hostel. There were no blankets on the beds, just sheets. The toilet water was running loudly and continuously. When we told the front desk person about it, she ignored the complaint. We contacted her again and she came to the room and knocked on the wall to try to make the water stop.., it didn’t. Later, as my family was sleeping a repair man (the owner??) showed up with a tool kit and went to work on it. He got the toilet repaired but somehow his solution was to turn off the hot water to the room. When we woke up at 3am for our flights, we were surprised to find cold showers waiting for us. At that hour there was no staff on duty to turn on the hot water. Hotel has not responded to my email requests for information about the terrible situation. ||Wish we would have stayed...

I missed my flight and booked this last minute using the airport wifi. The owners were so welcoming when I arrived. They immediately invited me to sit down and offered fresh coffee. The husband helped carry my bags. They booked a shuttle service for me back to the airport and came to get me when it arrived a few minutes early. The husband makes cakes and tarts he serves in the breakfast and afternoon tea/coffee room. Breakfast, tea, coffee and cakes are included. They have orange trees that I was made welcome to pick and eat from. When I asked about dinner restaurants they recommended a really good place then called ahead to check hours and make reservations.
