We re Anglo Australians , know Italy.well , speak Italian , have business in Roma and environs.|Had lived locally for some years ; |revisit during each year.|The lovely old fashioned Villa palazzo overlooking Rome is ruined by Staff attitude and comportment. In particular , |Signa FABIANA is arrogant , cold , monosyllabic , unsmiling and full of herself .|Giada more amenable when out.of the company of her colleague.....|Everything was done in a bored , unwilling fashion - |Really unpleasant atmosphere prevails.|We are seniors and are pleasant , interactive and sociable.|We were received without a warm welcome - just demands for passports and check in info.|Upon leaving we were surveyed scrutinised by 2 receptionists who came to front of hotel to watch us suspiciously , one of whom was Ms F who accused me of putting litter in the wrong place ..I had merely placed a packet of nuts aside on the ash tray whilst tidying up.our car ! |Utterly outrageous , rude and mean .|A pity that this toxic ambiance and attitude impact on optimistic guests , looking to enjoy a visit out of La Capitale in the iconic Castelli Romani.|Advice would be to recruit professional , experienced , educated Front Desk employees ! |Such a pity.|The rooms , by the way, are very variable in size and layout and...
Read moreThe Hotel is there to accommodate for events like wedding receptions, rather than to accommodate guests. It is not very child friendly either. We booked this Villa, thinking we would relax here as a family for a couple of days, and we ended up disappointed. The outdoor pool was usually inaccessible, as outside events were being held next to it, so hotel guests were not allowed to use it. The few hours we tried to use it it was extremely cold.
If the resort advertises it has an indoor pool, it is also false advertising. The pool is part of a Spa facility which is independently run from the villa, so access is not complementary and one must pay day rates to be able to access the indoor pool. Also, there are no hours at all which allow children to access the Spa, which pretty much ruined our family trip, as we love spending time in the pool together.
The room provided to us was also very small - there was no space where we could move with the baby travel cot which the villa provided, though the view from the room was exceptional.
I believe that if you want to organise an event to show-off, this place would be the right place, as it has great views of Rome, but as for accommodation, I am sure one can find by far much better places,...
Read moreIt is an absolutely fantastic place, beautiful, elegant, and comfortable. Me and my little son stayed at the Villa two times last summer, for 3 nights in July and then for another 6 in August. We were travelling in Italy since mid July till end of August. I can honestly say that of all the places we stayed in the course of this month and a half, Villa Tuscolana was by far - the best. We absolutely loved everything - the quiet and relaxing atmosphere, comfortable and fully furnished rooms, amazingly good food, and very nice and friendly stuff that works there. The guys at the reception were always very polite and helpful, the girls serving breakfast and lunch, Flavia and Julia were very nice and friendly, and the service at the restaurant, managed by Mike, was the best I have seen anywhere in Italy. In addition to all this - the history and ancient elegance that wraps the whole place like a shawl with beautiful gems. In other words - I highly recommend this place for all those that want to see Rome and surroundings, as the connection is very easy, either by train nearby or by car if you have one, and for those that want just to relax a few days in a beautiful and...
