I'll be very frank and very fair about my stay for 1 night which I had to end due to the extreme street noises that I had in my room.
Language Barrier: That was a problem as the young lady staying in the place doesn't speak English, and only the owners which speak English.
I had to call several time to know where is the place as I couldn't find a clear picture for it on booking.
Several calls while holding my 20 k bag and I'm all sweating 😑 and at the end I got the owner on the phone and clearly showed up in the street.
Room and Street Noises : The room is mesmerizing, the ceiling is all painted like old churches 😍 and the vintage style of an old room.
All was butterfly and rainbows at the beginning, and suddenly I started to hear those nonstop motorcycle engines more often. Non stop and I mean it, some with Race, some with a custom and all other kind. Cars as well.. Everything. 🤦🏻♂️
It was hell to me, specially am a very light sleeper and I need complete silence. I asked them at the beginning to change the room but there was no available rooms and they suggested to do that the next day, which I couldn't bear it. They even offered a better and bigger room, that wasnt the problem, the entire apartment is amplifying the sounds, you can hear it from all over the place, but it's worse for the rooms next to the streets.
You are literally sleeping in the streets!!!!
Breakfast:
That was amazing and delicious, hand down ❤️
Outside area was very quite, yet you can hear the sound of the motorcycles and scooters from behind. 😞
I really wished that I can spend 2 or 3 more days, but it's unbearable, yet am not exaggerating.
Owners are sweet and amazing, yet the most desired thing for any traveller is Calmness at night is not there.
I called booking and the owner and luckily they were so gentle to offer me a refund for the second day 🙏
My suggestion to the owner is to find a way to seal those windows, if am the owner of this beautiful place I would do whatever for this amazing place to loose the only negative thing to...
Read moreI was pleased with my stay at this small hotel. Once it was a grand residential building, now some of the rooms have been converted to guest accommodation. In fact in some countries it might be described as a pension?||This review applies to a room at the rear of the hotel. The one at the front was rather noisy and not as pleasant.||The room was large, clean, had a good bed and shower. The free wifi worked well and was easy to use. A few minibar items were included without charge. Some lighting didn't work properly..||Breakfast, included in the price, was simple but tasty with plenty of choice. I really enjoyed the breakfasts. Non perishable items are freely available to guests during the day as are hot drinks. It was pleasant to sit in the garden behind the property.||The hosts were friendly and helpful, this was much appreciated.||Genoa Brignole is about 15 minutes walk, but is quite hilly, and Piazza De Ferrari a similar distance.||I used the free shuttle from the airport to Genova Piazza Principe station and then bus 34. Genoa has good public transport and a 24 hours pass, which includes the funiculars, is good...
Read moreI find a few of the reviews very unfair about this place. The location is perfect, walking distance to all the sights and restaurants of Genova. People want a central location but silence, which isn't always possible in a big city. The rooms are huge with gorgeous high ceilings and bright colors. We had a family apartment with full kitchen and another double room on the garden side. Yes, its a bit dated with sockets and bathroom, but its big, functional and very clean. There are free drinks in the fridge and amenities in the bathroom which for the price was surprising. We booked a place in the private parking which was practical right in the middle of Genova. The staff was fantastic and helpful. The breakfast included in the price is a good mix of sweet and savory. A bakery delivers fresh croissants and patisseries every morning. We were very satisfied with our two night stay and would stay again...
