The campsite was nice given the price we paid. We couldn't ask for more and bike hire was free with a €50 deposit.
The staff at the main reception were really helpful and even allowed me to charge my phone so I could retrieve the campsite booking.
The guys for the Selectcamp group who we rented the cabin off were really friendly. I think they were Dutch. They were also flexible with checking out as we had to leave at 0630.
The cabin we stayed in was clean and comfortable. All facilities worked and the Aircon was powerful. The shower was also powerful. Pressure the likes of a 4 star hotel. It was refreshing.
We were told the campsite was frequented by Dutch, German, French and Italian patrons, so bear this in mind if coming over from the UK. I hoped my child might make friends but the language barrier made them shy to interact. We didn't come across any English people whilst at the site.
My only complaints would be that bike hire deposit should be able to be paid with card. We wanted to hire 3 bikes which required a €50 deposit each. I could pay by card but not cash especially because I didn't want to take cash out and lose out on exchanging back to GBP. Also the cash machine didn't work so I couldn't have taken any money out if I wanted to.
Also the free WiFi which was great when on, was switched off at about 2300-2330. I'm a night own and phone signal was terrible so couldn't really sort out any life admin whilst the little one was asleep.
All in all it was a good experience and I would...
Read moreWe have used this campsite at Pacengo on the shore of Lake Garda three times now. Out outfit is a large (8m) twin-axle caravan and a long wheelbase Shogun, so some of the pitches are to small, but on arrival we have always been offered a choice of pitches and managed to find something suitable. The Site is terraced down to the lake, where there is a small beach area and mooring for small boats. Small boats (we have 3.5m Zodiac) can be launched free of charge from the beach area, but there is a slipway and crane hoist for larger vessels. The site has a large swimming pool, childrens play area and entertainment 2 or 3 times a week in high season. There is a small campsite shop providing basic foodstuffs, but is pricey compared to bigger shops nearby and the local markets. There is a very nice restaurant onsite, providing good food at a very reasonable cost, with an excellent view of the sunset over the lake. There are washing machines and dryers on site plus hand washing facilities. The only down side to this site is the toilet/shower blocks are very basic and as cleaned in the morning are somewhat grubby by the evenings, so use of own shower etc comes in handy. It is close to Gardaland and the other large theme parcs for those visiting...
Read moreWe stayed on this campsite for seven nights. It was absolutely amazing. Everything was clean, the showers, toilets and washing up areas were immaculate. At the time we were there (August 2019) there was definitely hot water for washing up, showers and hand-basins. We flew in so obviously didn't have toilet paper with us but the site rep from 'All tents' was very kind and helpful. Our arrival was late, so the wonderful supermarket was closed, but he gave us everything we needed to see us through until morning. The area is outstandingly beautiful, the lake, a few minutes walk from our tent, was just incredible. There is so much to do and see in this area, I would have happily stayed there for seven weeks, rather that seven nights. The cooking facilities were basic, but adequate for us, a family of five! Everything we needed to cook with was supplied, even the all important kettle! I hadn't been camping for a very long time, and had no idea what to expect from a tent that was already set up, I have nothing but praise for this fantastic campsite, and can't wait to return next year. A truly incredible wonderful experience for us all, great for all ages as well! Oldest member of our group sixty nine, and...
