We first stayed at 'La Dolce Vita' in 2009. We enjoyed the experience so much that we have returned twice more, staying for 10 nights on both occasions. We find that Levanto is wonderful town. Ideal to use as a base for visiting the 'Cinque Terre', other Ligurian towns and sights but also has much to offer itself, with history, walks, beach, restaurants, food, bars, all services, easy access to trains, ferries and buses, and importantly, very friendly, helpful people.||The biggest factor however, in our decision to return to Levanto is the wonderful 'La Dolce Vita'. The B&B in a good location offers 4 rooms, nicely furnished with all services, very clean, kept immaculate by Valeria who attends to them every day. Valeria and husband Marco are very friendly, courteous and attentive people who will do their utmost to assist with advice, requests or help in any way needed, as we experienced and witnessed. Valeria prepares an amazing breakfast, a wide range of choices, some nice home made goodies and excellent coffee. Valeria or Marco have picked us up from and returned us to the Station when arriving or leaving, a service that is much appreciated. The Station however is an easy walk when you use the train for day trips. Access to the Ferry is also only a short walk from the B&B.||We would recommend to people considering staying in Levanto or region, to seriously consider staying in this lovely B&B which is also great value.||Thank you Valeria, Marco and lovely daughter Viola for your hospitality, friendliness and making our stays such memorable ones. We are pleased to have you as friends and enjoy staying in contact. We hope that circumstances will permit us to make a 4th visit to 'La...
Read moreRight from the moment of booking Valeria was so welcoming and helpful. As others have said she offered to pick us up from the station which was a great start. I had looked at endless properties in the CT area and without knowing the towns I was hopeful that I had made the right choice, not to stay in the five towns of the Cinque Terre. I am so glad I chose Levanto and La Dolce Vita, I can't think of anything negative to say. The accommodation was perfect, a lovely room furnished in typical fashion, very homely and comfortable overlooking the street which wasn't a problem as it's very quiet. Breakfast was great, plenty of choice with some lovely sweet treats baked each day by Valeria. And all served in the gorgeous breakfast room. Valeria was a constant source of information and tips for our day trips, she's a local so knows what she is talking about. She has on hand lots of brochures, timetables etc. and has very good English so a great source of local knowledge. We loved Levanto itself, lots of bars, cafes, shops and we really enjoyed watching the locals enjoying the late afternoon/early evening in the centre of town. It has a wonderful community spirit and doesn't feel too touristy. It isn't too big so easy to walk around and very handy to Monterosso and the rest of CT. Take Valeria's advice about restaurants, we went to one of her recommendations twice in 3 nights and we probably wouldn't have found it on our own. Three nights was perfect but I would love to have stayed longer and would...
Read moreWe drove from Chiavari where we had an unpleasant accommodation experience to Levanto to be greeted so well by Valeria our wonderful hostess Okaya! To begin Valeria took us to the edge of town car park where we parked our car in the spot her fathers Fiat Panda had been in. Not a lot of space to fit in but it did the job. We all piled in to the Panda for the short trip back to the B&B. Valeria then gave a detailed explanation of what happens in Levanto Restaurants etc etc to walks to Bonasolla and in great detail re the boat trips to the Cinque De Terre for the next few days. She pointed out the Rail station and which towns were more accessible by rail or boat and how the walking tracks were. A fountain of knowledge. We had a nice room which looked out onto the small street . The room ws fine as was breakfast which I think was not included in the very reasonable price. The rooms are on the first floor but either Valeria or Mario carry the bags for you so no problems with that. This is a lovely place to stay. Levanto is the best place to stay to see the CdeT and a great B&B in Levanto is just a bonus. If you are coming by train they will pick you up at the station which is a bit of a walk away if you have a bit of luggage. This is not 5 star so dont expect it. It is a lovely family run B&B which is fun to stay, comfortable, clean...
