Vidoc As a former chef, every now and then I see a restaurant that draws me in to fully experience the food and service on offer. The many outstanding reviews are totally justified, so if you’re looking for something extra fancy, you’d be hard pressed to top Vidoc. Essential to book ahead, otherwise the few casual seats are snapped up early. Read on further for my detailed breakdown. A prompt reply to my online booking for that night came back with an earlier time slot of 18:30-20:00, which I was happy to do. Once welcomed and seated, I made my selection and a delicious fresh bread (tasted like sourdough to me) was presented with the option of local olive oil. Certainly tempted this low-carb eater, and I polished off the lot! My entree of Spaghetti with prawns, pumpkin & ginger sauce was subtlety flavoured, allowing all the ingredients to shine through. I opted to pair this with a glass of house Prosecco, which was wonderful. Main course was the Ceylon rice & curry - a platter of 4 mini curry dishes, plus papadam & mango chutney. Each dish was delightful in itself, and those papadams were the lightest I’ve ever eaten. I matched this with a lively Italian craft beer - Roen Pale Ale, which was also great. I could have just stopped there and opted for a gelato from one of the surrounding vendors, but I was in for the full ride, so ordered the Dark chocolate cake with almond ice cream, and then double-downed with the suggested wine match of a Barolo Chinato - Cocchi, which was an aromatic, aged, dessert red wine, and offset the rich sweetness of the amazing cake. Very attentive service from all the staff, which is not surprising when two of them own the business. For a bonus, pay a visit to the beautiful upstairs bathroom, and take time to check out the photos among the art. Thank you team for a wonderful night - it was worth every Euro! Won’t hesitate to revisit if I’m ever...
Read moreWow. The food here restored our faith in the restaurants on Lake Garda. Good and detailed wine list. The ravioli/tortellini with duck was the star of the primi piattis. The ragu bolognese could have been more generous with the meat and olive oil, the pasta was fresh and homemade. The t-bone was the star of the show and in fact was more a rib of beef than a t-bone. Slightly charred and cooked very rare, it was a delight. The pork shank (a special) was good but overshadowed by the t-bone. If you like good food, and good service, then book here if you’re staying in Malcesine. I’d almost be tempted to book it for every dinner, rather than waste time eating average meals for the sake of trying other...

This was hands down the best meal of our trip—no contest. Our daughter ordered the homemade pasta with tomato sauce and basil, and let me tell you… that basil must’ve been grown in a magical garden because it blew our minds. 🌿💥 My husband and I tag-teamed the tuna tartar -wow!-, the mixed salad and the shrimp tortellini (also homemade!), and now we might fight over who gets the last bite next time.
The service? So friendly we almost invited them to dinner tomorrow. 😄 We wrapped it all up with tiramisu and espresso. Highly recommend. Would eat here every day...
