Me and my husband have just arrived back from a 4 night stay & having read previous reviews we were very nervous about what we would find, however I’m delighted to say w were very pleasantly surprised. Yes the hotel is somewhat dated, but there’s a very minimal problem. The bar is well stocked with drinks, ice cream and snacks/light meals and these are charged to your room, which you pay on checkout. The shuttle service the hotel can provide to/from the airport is a brilliant price of €35 per person, just make sure you prebook - a taxi will easily be €100 especially as Verona airport is over an hour away. The pool is on the smaller side but still big enough to have a decent length in, plus it has a connecting jacuzzi pool. We stayed in a lovely modern room with its own balcony and had a view of the Lake - the room was cleaned everyday, has its own mini fridge and the bathroom had plenty of towels and was very roomy. The hairdryer is a bit dated and the shower head wouldn’t always stay up but they’re not major things. ||The hotel is ideally situated about 15 minutes walk into Malcesine, which is beautiful. There’s plenty of shops & restaurants and the food is superb! If you walk along the main road, there’s a EuroSpar for food and drinks, and a bit further along is the cable car for Monte Baldo. ||Other reviews will have you thinking that walking to the hotel is like walking up Everest - trust me it isn’t. It’s a slope/flat/slope/flat/slope journey for about 400 metres. ||The lady that runs the hotel doesn’t speak much English so we found google translate very helpful, and the breakfast is mainly a continental breakfast (plenty of it!) but with some scrambled eggs, bacon and frankfurters too - just be sure to sit at the table that is your room number.||||This is a lovely hotel that is an excellent price compared to other hotels in the area - we really recommend it and are already looking to return...
Read moreThe hotel is off the road and up a steep, uneven hill, so you need to either drive or be reasonably good on your feet to reach it. ||The waiting staff were friendly and the cleaners kept the room clean. The rooms were basic and dated, the mattresses were terrible (if you sat within a foot of the edge you were liable to fall off because there was no structure to them), and we woke up each morning with a stiff neck and back. There was no complimentary water, like we had elsewhere, and it is not close to anywhere to buy water (except for the bar downstairs). Not ideal when you arrive in 30°+ heat.||The only ventilation in the bathroom was a window onto the corridor outside and it only opened fully or not at all - not great for privacy or keeping room secure. There was no security box in our room and all the information, including menus, were in German and some in Italian. Breakfast was basic but okay. ||This was the most expensive stay during our two week holiday (we also stayed in Naples, Rome, Verona, Florence and Venice) and easily the least value for money. We wouldn't go back and nor would we...
Read morethe breakfast was varied and well set out for the large amount of people there. the wifi worked and it was an ok location to restaurants. the room we had was set at the back of the hotel and you had a view of the window pods for the restaurant and a rough unkempt area. the staff take their breaks in front of the balcony and are there throughout the day and night so we did not really use it as it was always overlooked, the balcony door was also very hard to open. the room was damp with plaster falling off the walls, the room and bathroom were not particularly nice, and did have too much furniture in the room. the sheets were clean but with patches. i did not think the price paid reflected value at all. this hotel is located up a steep road so you need to be...
