If you’re in Malcesine and don’t stop at this gelato shop, you’re doing your vacation wrong.
We stumbled upon this little slice of heaven while wandering through the charming streets—and wow. The gelato? Phenomenal. The banana flavor? Life-changing. It’s like someone peeled happiness, churned it with a bit of magic, and served it in a cone.
But let’s talk about the real gem here: the owner. I’m convinced he might be the nicest man in all of Italy. Possibly Europe. Possibly the planet. He greeted us like long-lost friends, offered tastes like a proud gelato sommelier, and somehow made us feel like we were both royalty and family. We joked that if hospitality were an Olympic sport, this man would have multiple gold medals (and he’d probably offer you one with a scoop of pistachio on top). Ask him about his travels.
Do yourself a favor. Go. Eat the banana gelato. Eat the dark chocolate gelato. Get a warm Italian smile with your cold dessert....

Italo, the owner, is a legend. The kind of guy who’ll greet you like an old friend even if it’s your first time, then proudly insist you try “just one more flavor.” (Spoiler: it’s never just one more.)
The pistachio alone deserves its own fan club. The Malaga should be illegal — it’s that good. And don’t even get me started on the seasonal fruit flavors that somehow taste like summer and a first kiss at the same time, and the cocciolotto with hazelnut. They even have a regards program, so we’ll see you tomorrow night Italo!
Long story short: skip the tourist traps. Let Italo ruin all other gelato for you forever. You’ll thank me later (even if your jeans won’t).
