An absolutely delightful B&B in a great location. Casa del Teatro is a small, charming guesthouse, less than ten minutes walk from Mantua’s historical centre. There is a lift if you don’t want to climb three flights of stairs. Our double room, on the third floor, was quiet, spotlessly clean and well presented. It had a double bed, a spacious wardrobe, bedside tables, a kettle and plenty of tea bags in various flavours. There was also a mini fridge with wine, soft drinks but also with small bottles of water which were replaced daily and free for guests to take, as were the snacks on the tea tray. The room has a clean and modern shower room with WC, basin and bidet. The air conditioning was very effective. Our host, Dannj spoke very good English. He was incredibly welcoming and helpful, ready to answer any questions or share local knowledge, such as bus routes and the best local restaurants. Mantua is a beautiful city and this is the ideal place to stay in order to enjoy it to the full! I’d recommend Casa Del Teatro...
Read moreWe can only echo what other recent reviewers have had to say about this quiet, convenient and altogether well located B and B. The host Gianluca is obviously and rightly proud of Mantova and will advise about the best places to see but without imposing in any way. He runs a clean and modern B and B with everything you need for a comfortable and relaxing stay. It is not without a few quirks but no stay in Italy is quite complete without the eccentricities of the local plumbing or the peculiarities of the ascensori (lifts). Well recommended however and we would...
Read moreThis is a small bnb, located in the historic core, but facing onto a small piazza. So it does not feel like it is overwhelmed by other buildings. The property is immaculate. Warm and welcoming and with great attention to detail. Toiletries, mini-bar, in-room tea and coffee -- plus wafers. Little self-serve bar in the public area. Good heating. Adequate lighting. Wonderful linens, and comfy bed. Very fresh. Proprietor Gianluca was most helpful in giving us directions and helping us park.||Of course there is no restaurant, but there are dozens within a few minutes walk. The bnb has a lift too.||It is hard to find, since our gps could not get us to the property. Gianluca told us to put in via benarrivata, and that seemed to work.||We'd...
