Osteria del Campione — Restaurant in Mantua

The food itself and the atmosphere were good but the service was a mesh. First, the girl who took the order did not inform us that the meat we ordered, beaf filet and pork cotollettes, were not accompanied by anything else, just plain meat. Second, they served the first plate (primo piato), aubergine with parmizano cheese, long after the second and just when we asked for the bill (they accepted however to return the plate without cherge). E' stata un delusione. Ho prenotato in questo ristorante in quanto ben recensito. Mentre mi avvicinavo al ristorante mi sono accorto di una recensione che mi ha colpito: hanno offerto pane ammuffito. Mi son detto anche se non dovrebbe assolutamente succedere può capitare che una volta ci sia una distrazione.. Venendo al pasto.. Il servizio è lento, l'organico sotto-stimato per avere una buona gestione della sala/clientela. Si decide per un primo ed un secondo. Portano il pane e l'acqua, l'acqua in una caraffa riutilizzabile e riutilizzata ed il pane.. Prendo la prima fetta e sorpresa muffa! Non ci posso credere, con i commensali si conviene di non mangiarlo.. portano il primo una pasta fresca fatta in casa completamente cruda forse per evitare che si rompesse ed uscisse il ripieno. Delusione. I secondi sembrano fatti con prodotti surgelati, quelle fettine che si trovano ai supermercati insomma niente di che se non fosse che siamo in un ristorante con prezzi non da mensa mentre la qualità è ahimè più scarsa. Delusione. Vado a pagare in quanto ho scelto il ristorante e non volevo far sborsare un euro ai commensali visto la disavventura.. Pago i tre pasti 35€ ciascuno - il bancone ahimè trascurato - dove c'è la cassa ci sono tazzine di caffè, i pacchi postali e la macchina dell'acqua - insomma un gran casino - ora capisco il perchè si trova anche il pane ammuffito in tavola. I arrived late, after my friends had finished their lunch already. The staff were kind and flexible, serving me food at 2:30pm while my friends sipped their wine. We had really nice beef tartare, several types of pasta, anchovies and salad. Friendly, relaxed environment, good choice of wines.
