We stayed here two nights in May and were thrilled that we found this place. It's just three rooms, well-managed, very clean and modern. It's located in the heart of the old town, just about a 15 min walk from the train. You are in the middle of it all and can enjoy it from your open window if desired, but the double-pane glass keeps all the noise out when you're ready to sleep. The rooms are on the first floor, up a steep entry stairway. We were met by friendly Francesca who showed us the room, gave us the keys and and all the pertinent info we needed (she's available by cell if needed anytime during your stay). Breakfast isn't provided here but we found coffee and croissants at a cafe very nearby. There are many, many restaurants to be discovered! ||||We stayed in Room Glicine and had a nice big bed with comfy pillows, a wardrobe to hang clothes, a small desk, great lighting, a wonderful shower with great water pressure. The room has aircon but we didn't need it. There's a small, wall-mounted flat screen TV, all Italian language channels (at least, we didn't find any English channels when we surfed). We were happy to have a mini-fridge in the room. The front lobby area has a hot water kettle for common use, and instant teas and coffees for guest use, as well as some packaged tea cakes and cookies. We were pleasantly surprised that housekeeping had cleaned our room when we were out for the day, because we weren't expecting that it was included in our rate at an affittacamere! What a great value for your money in Monterosso.||||From Monterosso, it's easy to catch the train or take a boat to any of the other Cinque Terre towns. Pay attention to the train and boat schedules because there can be big gaps. We were happy we stayed here instead of the other towns because they can be overrun with daytripping tourists. Monterosso has the only true beaches of all the towns. You can rent a chair and umbrella or sit on the free access beach area. All of the five towns have become heavy with tourists, but at least in Monterosso we felt like we had some room walk around and enjoy the area without being in a train of...
Read moreWe spent three nights in May in this lovely affitacamere. It is perfectly named, as our room was indeed in the arch above the street! Our room for four was large, brightly lit, and freshly painted. The bathroom was large - with a shower - and equipped with brand new high quality appliances. Although the affitacamere is right in the centre of Monterosso, it is very quiet and our sleep was never disturbed by outside noise.||||Make sure that you get your morning croissants and extraordinary chocolate "tresse" (braids) from the bakery next door. ||||A word of caution. Visitors cannot use their car within the village of Monterosso. There is, however, a parking garage at the entry of the village. The day we arrived, the garage was fully packed. We were lucky and relieved to get the last parking spot. The rate is 18 euros per day and one has to pay to a machine that accepts coins only. A parking attendant is present most of the time - but not always! - to...
Read moreWe were here for 4 nights and enjoyed our stay at this B & B, Our room which was small overlooked the street below. The room was very clean as was the bathroom. Unfortunately the shower head on the shower was broken which made showering a little inconvenient. The bedding was very comfortable. ||||Our hostess provided tea, coffee and hot chocolate with biscuits and other eats which we could avail ourselves of. Certainly enough to start the day with. It was very nice. (on our last night someone helped themselves to nearly everything in the basket which was a bit disappointing.)||||For 2 nights it was rather noisy from the restaurants below our room till early hours in the morning.||||Location is excellent, with lots of restaurants very close by. Free wifi which is quite good.||||Beware there is a flight od stairs up to the apartment which a reasonably steep.||If booking the B & B you will enjoy...
