We were pleasantly surprised by the quiet atmosphere and learned Galin had only been open a few weeks. We were excited to see what they could offer and left extremely satisfied. We loved the attentive, friendly service from Nichole, she’s the best! The food was outstanding; the stuffed anchovies were well-balanced and the misto al mare had variety and flavor, enough for 3 people! The pasta courses were delicious and worth noting that when a menu item wasn’t available, the kitchen did an excellent job to adjust; we enjoyed a penne with shrimp, zucchini, and truffle in a light cream sauce that was 🤌🤌🤌 A final note on the price: we were a group of 4 Americans who like wine and want to try EVERYTHING, sharing plates over multiple courses. Looking over the menu, a family could easily be well-fed for €20-30 per person because each course can serve as a meal. We felt we paid a good price for all the wonderful food and wine we got to try and you can find your price range on their...
Read moreOne of the best Italian restaurant I’ve ever been to and I am a pasta-maniac.
From Monterosso station it’s a good 5 mins walk along the beachfront then through the tunnel you will take another 5-7 mins walk through the alleys, but it’s worth the effort.
We ordered the a twisted zucchini pasta with prawns, it was risotto on the menu but I asked if I can change it to spaghetti and they were happily doing it for me, basically became spaghetti alla Nerano, with prawn, and it was perfect.
The other dish we had was the grilled seafood platter, very impressed with the generous portion to start with, 3 kind of fishes featuring seared tuna and cod, I forgot what was the other one. Then there was 3 kinds of prawns including scampi and red prawns, mussels and clams.
Everything was delicious and fresh, and it was priced very reasonably.
This is now one of my two most favourite italian place, the other one was in Nernao itself,...
Read moreThis was truly one of the best meals I’ve ever had. After our first night in Monterosso, we knew this was the only restaurant we wanted to return to for dinner during the rest of our trip. I’m gluten-free, and they went above and beyond to accommodate me, even bringing out gluten-free bread so I could enjoy dipping it in oil and balsamic.
The caprese was the best we had anywhere in Italy, and the risotto was hands down the best I’ve ever tasted. We also tried the steak, which was an absolute 10/10. Add in the amazing wine, warm and welcoming staff, and the fantastic ambiance, and it’s an experience I’ll never forget.
I’ll truly miss this restaurant and cannot recommend it enough. Be sure to make a reservation - you...
