The Relais Sant Eligio was fist class. We were greeted at reception by Lori with a big smile, and shown to our room. She was very informative about the hotel, its services and the surrounding area. Nothing was too much trouble for her.||The room was of an average size and very clean. The view from our room window was over gardens and the distant sea. Everywhere had a clean crisp smell.||The restaurant was on the ground floor with vaulted ceilings. The service and the food was excellent and also the wine, Anna and her husband did the cooking and Poalo (Anna's son) did the waiting. They treated us like old friends, it was a lovely experience. I was a little pasta-ed out one evening and said jokingly that I fancied egg and chips for my evening meal. Anna said it was no problem and out came 3 fried eggs and a bowl of chips, she even shaved fresh truffle over the eggs. Wonderful. After the meal Anna came out and serve us her home made Limoncello (complimentary). It was delicious and strong. Like rocket fuel, Wow.||The breakfast was also very good, plenty of cold meat and cheese, boiled eggs, bread, cakes, yogurt and cereals, tea and coffee. Enough to set you up for the days traveling.||Also a large free car park in front of the hotel.||We would recommend this hotel to anyone who was...
Read moreThis is a decent hotel for a few days, rooms are on the small side and basic but very clean. We had a nice view of the sea in the distance. Convenient stay in Ostuni if you have a car as they offer free parking and the hotel is outside the city so outside the ZTL. You will need to walk up the hill to access the city sites and restaurants. The first night it seemed like a bit of a grind but we quickly got used to the hike, it’s not bad at all and there are lots of lovely bars and restaurants to reward you.|Breakfast was included and was perfectly adequate. Staff at this hotel were not overly friendly but if you persevere and use a bit of Italian they will come around. My impression of the restaurant staff was that they were young, a bit shy and not too experienced- fair enough, they’ll learn.|The young woman on the front desk was very helpful in booking us a beach club one day and it was much...
Read moreWe stayed here whilst on a cycling holiday. The hotel is quite large and is about 10 minutes walk uphill into town so is not very central but is in a very nice setting all the same. We had a beautiful room and bathroom both huge and light and airy and all very clean with a very comfortable mattress. |The staff were very welcoming and friendly and we had a lovely choice at breakfast and a very pleasant evening meal, choosing to eat here rather than in the towns eateries which seemed very ‘touristy’. The food was typical of the region and was very nice to try! |The bicycles are not stored overnight in a garage but were secured to railings at the front of the hotel but we had no issues at all, the hotel is gated and set down a drive and within its own...
