La Perla is one of the best known hotels in the Dolomites and in 2005, became the first hotel in South Tyrol – Alto Adige to become a member of “The Leading Small Hotels of the World”. Of utmost importance to the seasoned skier is that La Perla is one of the only five star hotels that allows you to ski directly to your apres ski at the hotel bar. The story of La Perla started in 1956 when ski instructor and plumber Ernesto Costa built a humble six-room hotel. Hotel La Perla now counts fifty four rooms, which have been designed using authentic furnishings and colors that reflect the true nature of South Tyrol. Surrounded by the Dolomites, La Perla is located in the center of Corvara, and only 30 meters from Col Alto, the first ever ski lift in Italy. Two generations of the Costa family have now run the hotel, with Michil, Mathias and Maximilian, taking over from their mother Annie and father Ernesto, to continue a tradition in welcoming their guests into a family setting with a warm hospitality and outstanding gastronomy.

The most exquisite hotel I have ever stayed at. This is a family-owned and operated hotel with love and attention to detail showing in every aspect. From the most refined and careful decor and aesthetic, to the relaxing and inviting spa, to the service that is unsurpassed. We had the pleasure of meeting Mathias, whose family owns and runs the hotel. He is quite the gentleman who is not above fetching a cup of coffee for a guest or loading a suitcase into a taxi. The wine tasting he hosted for our group in his family's 400-year old home on the property is something we'll remember forever. If you're visiting the Dolomites, I couldn't recommend a better hotel.

This is true old-school luxury – which means you are made to feel special at every opportunity. The hotel is charming and authentic, yet never lacking in modern amenities. The spa is worthy of an entire afternoon, and the breakfast is a never-ending feast. But the real gem of this hotel is La Stüa de Michil, its Michelin-starred restaurant, which is a delicious melange of cutting-edge original ideas and traditional Ladino flavors. Come once and you’ll surely return...I hope I will!

Trapped at La Perla in Corvara! Please send help!||||I’m stunned to read the nearly uniformly positive reviews of this hotel. If zero stars were an option I would choose that. ||||There are four restaurants available at La Perla in the winter. A half board credit is included as part of our stay so we have already paid for half the cost of our dinners. ||||One of the restaurants is a one star Michelin restaurant and the half board credit cannot be used toward that restaurant. We didn’t consider it as we are not one star Michelin folks and it is closed till our final night here. There is one default restaurant and two others for which one needs to make a reservation ahead of time. As we arrived here at 7:30 PM on a Sunday night we figured we’d go with the default restaurant. It alternates between an à la carte menu and a fixed menu and our night of arrival was the fixed menu. It consisted of a choice of two Primi and two Secondi. My wife and I ordered each of the dishes so that we could sample the variety. To say the food was barely edible is to be kind. My wife’s order was a chicken leg and when it came, it looked so odd that she (a physician with knowledge of anatomy) asked me if the dish served to her was what she had ordered. She ate half as that was as much a she could stomach.||||As a result of our dining experience we had no confidence in eating more meals here and asked to check out after one night, rather than than the planned three night stay, and go on to our next destination, Bologna, where we have been several times and have a choice of restaurants. Our travel agent informed us that our stay at La Perla was nonrefundable. As this hotel is quite expensive, that was disappointing. ||||As I explained to our travel agent, I owned a business for many years, and if I had a client who was unhappy, I apologized to them, gave them their money back, and wished them the best. Evidently, that is not the MO of La Perla. ||||In the spirit of sandwiching in a positive comment there is a robust selection of TV...

This property may carry the Leading Hotels of the World label, but unfortunately, the experience fell far short of that standard. Setting and decor is old and rundown , the service philosophy seems to revolve around charging extra for absolutely everything — often without warning.||From basic amenities to services you’d reasonably expect to be included in a hotel of this caliber, nearly everything comes with an unexpected fee. Instead of feeling pampered, you feel like you're being upsold at every turn. It’s disappointing and leaves a sour taste.||Luxury isn’t just about the look — it’s about the guest experience. And here, that experience feels transactional, not hospitable. Definitely not the seamless, elevated stay one would expect from a member of LHW.||Extremely underwhelming spa and massage experience. The massage was poorly executed, felt rushed, and completely lacked any professionalism or technique. The spa area itself is tiny and cramped, offering none of the comfort or luxury you would expect.||The pool is small and uninviting, the showers are bare — no shampoo, conditioner, or body products provided. No brushes, no hair products, no amenities at all. Everything felt like an afterthought. This is not a relaxing or rejuvenating environment by any standard.||Definitely not worth the cost or the time. Would not return or recommend.||But the worse was interaction with few members of the staff that insisted on changing us the fee for spa entrance after we paid 150 euro for our poor massages for each and were planning to have dinner for 4 right after.||When we called 4 to 5 days in advance, we were told by two staff members that there was no separate entrance fee if you’re having a spa treatment or dinner. We were planning to have both.||On the way out of the spa we were asked to pay another 300 for entrance to the “ magnificent “ spa.||They could not produce any email confirmation re those charges.||We left the hotel very...
