From the moment we arrived we we thought it was a lovely picturesque hotel which we were terrible mistaken the minute we walked into the room of the hotel... our toilet was broken , our air conditioning was non exisistent , we checked in at 6 pm and came down from the room by 8 after having showers and To go out and have dinner , we reported the issue to reception which we were met with a hostile response advising we should of reported it immediately as the maintenance man was now gone home and he couldn't do anything for us which we advised we are not even here for 2 hours and we are reporting it now. The city of Rome is approx 25 minutes away in a uber or tax which you will be charged 35 euro each way FYI. This was okay as we new we were slightly out. By night 3 we discovered bed bugs , we proceeded to reception at 1 am and unfortunately no apology , we asked could we change room which the reception obliged and asked us to return the key immediately from our previous room( we waited until the morning ) we were quite annoyed at this point.. as we rose the next morning we went to the pool which is 10 euro PP a day , make sure to bring towels and swimming cap as a swimming cap is necessary but it seems to be only for the non Italians as the other people in the pool were not wearing them .. The pool is NOT part of the hotel establishment and is owned by somebody else which we were not aware of either but we didn't mind.. we were then hit with another beg bug fiasco in our new room we got moved to , noticed at roughly 9 pm , we changed the sheets ourselves as the cleaners room was 4 rooms away . If you plan on having a relaxing stay , stay away , the walls are paper thin, floor boards throughout the hotel ,the people above us zipping up there luggage and even moving it we heard .. the breakfast in the morning is meat, cheese., scrambled egg, fruit and pastries , not a huge selection whatsoever and the bread is edible if its toasted . Never in my life have I written a review about any hotel as before I came on the holiday I wad 10 days in Turkey in a 4 star and not had 1 bad thing to say , but this hotel is NOT a 4 star and to be honest I wouldnt even count it as 1 to be honest. The staff are rude unfortunately and the whole atmosphere is horrible . Please please please do not book this hotel, I went with a group of girls but I wouldn't return with ny daughter or my Fiance . We are bitten alive and to be honest the place should be shut down.. we read the reviews once we got here unfortunately but usually wouldn't listen to them and see how we got on but take my advise...
Read moreWe looked at the photos and went on the website and we thought it was an ideal place to stay for our honeymoon and my birthday combined we booked the superior room to make it a bit more special, when we arrived it looked lovely and was a very nice building and the lobby was well presented the man at check in was polite and very helpful, when we got to our room we were very disappointed it was a good size but didn't feel any more superior to a travel lodge room, the view of the apartment complex next door didn't improve the situation then when we decided we would unpack and get comfortable and have a cup of tea there was no kettle to do so, so my wife had a shower in the smallest shower I've ever seen that the doors didn't stay shut in and water went all over the hideous green tile floor making it like an ice rink and if you moved an arm in the shower it would turn off due to hitting the tap, my wife then tried to dry her hair only to find the phone box looking hairdryer had a hole in the pipe so it didn't work at all, it was bow late so we went to sleep to find there was only one spare pillow when we would normally sleep with 2 each we went down in the morning and explained about the issues we were having to be met with blank stares and a simple answer of si after exploring the city we went up to our room to find none of the issues had been sorted so we went back down and said to the lady who was now on the desk who promptly sorted the pillow and hairdryer, the next day we went out again to explore rome and could not stop itching our legs and by day 5 we were covered thigh to toe in bed bug bites and my ankle had swollen to double the size by the 7th and last day when we got home the bites have not gone down and now have 2 swollen ankles and bites all over our bodies, we decided on the third day we would have a chill out day in and around the pool with a few drinks only to be stopped on our way in and told you have to pay to use the pool this was one of the main factors in choosing this hotel that when it was hot we could cool down in the pool but we did not want to pay for what we thought would be included in the price of the hotel and we were very disappointed this was never explained to us when we were booking. So in conclusion if you want to be about 30 mins from town and have to pay a ridiculously night tourism tax for the pleasure and get covered in bed bug bites then this is probably the...
Read moreOn August 13th, my husband and I stayed at LH Hotel Roma Montemario in Rome. Upon arriving in our room, we found that we were unable to make phone calls and the television was not functioning. I informed the reception, and they assured us that someone would be sent to check the room. However, when we returned later, the TV and Wi-Fi were still not working. By August 15th, our third day, the issues persisted, with no Wi-Fi or TV.
That evening, around 10 PM, my husband lost our room key. When we approached the reception, the staff member on duty was dismissive and rude, stating that there were no spare keys and that we wouldn’t be able to access the lights or air conditioning without the key. Although another staff member later let us into our room and managed to turn on the lights and AC, the situation was very frustrating.
The next morning, August 16th, I went for breakfast and then visited the reception. A young lady there was kind and helpful. She informed me that no one had turned in our lost key but provided us with a spare key, which was a relief.
Later that day, we ordered takeaway food as the hotel restaurant was closed for lunch. On my way back to the room, I asked to borrow some spoons from the restaurant. An Italian man rudely refused my request and shut the door in my face, despite my explanation that I needed the spoons to eat my lunch and take my medication, as I am diabetic. This left me in tears and made me question if his behavior was racially motivated, especially since I had seen another guest take spoons without issue.
Throughout our 4-day stay, we were without a working TV or Wi-Fi and experienced what I believe was racial discrimination. This trip was meant to commemorate the 20th anniversary of my father’s passing on August 15th. The hotel offered me £24.63 as compensation, which I find unacceptable.
I advise potential guests to thoroughly review their options before booking this hotel and consider avoiding it based on...
