It is a fabulous restaurant that exudes a charming Roman-Italian atmosphere. First and foremost, we must commend the outstanding service provided. The waitstaff offered impeccable recommendations for appetizers, main courses, and desserts, ensuring that we had the opportunity to sample authentic Roman cuisine rather than just the usual Italian fare. The carbonara was outstanding, as were all the other pasta dishes. Additionally, the house wine was exceptional, surpassing our expectations. And let's not forget to mention the delectable tiramisu, which was truly unparalleled. First night in Rome, and this was walking distance from the hotel. FANTASTIC food! Pizza (spicy salami and sausage) was the BEST I have ever had! The crust was perfect, not heavy and doughy like many in the US. Spouse had a separate pizza, and it too was fantastic. Didn't want an entire bottle of wine, so I got wine by the glass (wasn't on the menu). I'm not sure what it was, but it too was excellent. The entire meal was very reasonably priced, including bottled water AND the wine. We were there as it opened in the evening, so we had an opportunity to talk a bit with the owner - quite a delightful, down to earth gentleman who spoke excellent English putting us Neanderthal Americans at ease. Unfair and discriminatory treatment. We were forced to order a separate pizza each, despite wanting to share. The couple next to us noticed the obvious inconsistency themselves and discussed it with us, as they were allowed to share a single pizza without issue. It’s clear the restaurant is more interested in squeezing extra money from customers than following any genuine policy.
