I usually stay in the centre of Rome and pay three times the price, okay it isn't five star hotel BUT if you want somewhere really cost effective and close to Rome this is prefect. It's in a suburb called Pigneto which is easily reached by the new underground - line C. Al you have to do is take the metro line A from Termini and change at San Giovanni to The brand new line C. It literally takes just half an hour from Termini including the metro change.
The staff are really wonderful and cannot do enough to to help you, the room was clean and tidy and I felt very safe there. It was also SO quiet, there is a fantastic bar called Necci just twenty steps away and they do wonderful food and coffee also you can walk into a very lively area with lots of bars and resteraunts.
You have everything you need in your room, a good shower, clean good bedding and a small kitchen area to cook if you want to.
On my return I took the tram straight into Rome termini which only took 20 minutes, give it a try it's really good value for money and really all you need is somewhere safe and clean to lay your head at night. I slept so well. Thank you to the ladies who run the place they were fabulous I will see you again on my next trip to Rome! Gracie...
Read moreWe stayed at Lodi for 4 nights in November. It's not really a hotel, but apartment style lodging. For that price you'd better look for a nicer place closer to the city center.||The bad:||- we had to pay tax fee (30 euro) although our booking was pay in full via amoma and we should have not incurred additional cost according to amoma.||- towels were not changed at all. Same towels for 4 nights stay. Only blanket in our room, not real linen.||- water not drinkable even after boiling. Always some kind of a sludge in the water. I have been told later it's a common thing in Italy though.||- wifi is not free. you have to pay 5 euro for 2 hours or something like that if I recall. This is first time in life I heard about paying for wifi in a hotel. After complaining we were offered 2 hours of free wifi (two hours).||- the worst: our room didn't have a heater. We stayed in early November and the room temperature was around 10 celsius. ||||The good:||- Linda, the owner I assume, was nice and friendly.||||I can't really recommend this place, for that money you probably find nicer place closer...

It advertises as a self contained apartment but it doesn’t even have the bare essentials.
