Spirito — Restaurant in Rome

I had planned my birthday dinner at this restaurant for March 22, 2024, and made a reservation on March 16, 2024, leaving my name and contact details. However, upon arriving on the day of my birthday, I was informed that there was no reservation under my name. The person in charge was incredibly rude and failed to acknowledge their mistake, despite my providing proof of the reservation made via phone call. To add insult to injury, the person even resorted to using profanity in Italian, assuming we wouldn't understand.

The only saving grace of the evening was the waitress named Julia. She was visibly upset by her colleague's behavior and went above and beyond to rectify the situation. Julia promptly arranged a table for us and ensured that she personally attended to us throughout the night. Despite my frustration and disappointment, we decided to have dinner and then leave for another venue.

I must emphasize that I strongly advise against booking any special events, such as birthdays, at this establishment due to the chaotic and unprofessional experience we endured. Additionally, it's worth noting that despite requesting for the cake to be stored in the freezer, it was not, resulting...

We had booked for a friend’s birthday dinner, upon arriving they told us we had no booking (maybe the person we had booked with forgot to write it)….It happens! My friend showed them proof on her call log that she had actually talked to them but instead of recognising their mistake and trying to solve the problem, 2 male waiters started saying in Italian that we were causing them headaches, that we should be given any table and get the h*out of their sights NB: They didn’t know we understood Italian but after hearing all that they said we told them that we understood everything and they ignored us in embarrassment as we went outside (I can’t even Imagine what they say to other foreigners who really don’t understand anything)

The only person who saved the situation was the waitress Giulia who has been very kind and professional and asked us to come back in so she could prepare the table that we had booked …..she tried to do the service herself as much as she could.

After some time we decided to move to another venue so that my friend would enjoy her birthday celebration in a more welcoming place.

Siamo stati qualche giorno fa, ci fanno accomodare e dopo un po' ci tolgono una sedia poiché serviva per il tavolo vicino al nostro che era prenotato, una seconda volta ci chiedono di stringerci, e una terza volta si ricordano che erano entrambi prenotati dunque ci fanno alzare dicendo di avere a brevissimo un altro tavolo offrendoci durante l'attesa un prosecco (ovviamente mai visto) al banco. In piedi dunque ci rimettiamo in attesa di questa fatidica sistemazione, che a detta loro sarebbe arrivata a breve, ma ovviamente si scordano di noi, e solamente alle nostre continue richieste non dico di un tavolo ma almeno delle tempistiche (poiché alle 23:00 per lo meno avremmo potuto spostarci in un altro luogo anziché stare in piedi), ci rispondono vagamente. Morale: dalle 22:00 alle 23:30 che decidiamo di andarcene, ci dicono ah state andando? Allora potete mettervi a quel tavolo che era prenotato ma non si sono presentati. Organizzazione ridicola, perché non sapevano neanche loro quali tavoli fossero prenotati, e non mi sembra neanche normale aspettare oltre un'ora dall'orario di prenotazione lasciando altra gente in piedi. Prezzi troppo alti sia per l'organizzazione, il servizio e il locale, tra l'altro ci hanno portato il vino sbagliato e lo abbiamo pagato di più.
