If you are looking for something lavish and an over priced bed then do not consider Garni Le Chalet.||If you value great hosts, clean. and tidy rooms, nice breakfast (without being opulent), and awesome value for money then do you best to book in here.||Your husband (Franz) and wife (Linda) hosts are born and bread in Santa Cristina. ||Linda is front of house and speaks Ladin (local language to this part of Val Gardena), Italian, German, and English.||The only reason I did not give them 5stars is that the rooms are small - large enough and have plenty of storage, etc, but it is a very small compromise considering you are not visiting Santa Cristina to sit in your accomodation.||Located within 50mtrs from the bus (goes every 10 mins til Selva and Ortisei), 100mtrs to ski lift, 150mtrs from shops and restaurants.||Make your our mind up and don't blame me if you over look this one :)||ps some of the Trip Advisor review questions that follow are irrelevant so...
Read moreGarni Le Chalet is located just a 5 minute walk from the tourist offiice, the bus and the town of Santa Cristina, so the location is excellent. It was a little tricky to drive to (you enter the street by the post office), but once there, you can park the car and leave it safely. The bus (with free pass given by hotel owners in the area) will take you where you need to go within the area.||The hotel is owned by two sweet people who are clearly proud of their hotel and enjoy having guests. However, for information regarding hikes, we used the tourist office nearby. ||The hotel is very clean. Our room had a small balcony with a view. Breakfast is good with pastries and local fare as well as fruit. The room is rather small, so best to unpack rather than working from a suitcase. The bathroom is clean with plenty of hot water. ||This is a nice, clean, simple place to stay when visiting this...
Read moreWe stayed 3 nights in Garni Le Chalet and found it convienient and welcoming. The elderly couple that runs the hotel are a delightful couple. They were very welcoming and helpful to us. The Hotel is very small, seems like only 5 or 6 rooms, and the rooms are also quite small, but suprisingly the bathrooms were large and modern and immaculately cleaned. Our elderly hostess put out a generous spread for breakfast which each day included freshly baked strudel or cake hot from her oven. ||The only problem is the access to the parking is quite steep and difficult to negotiate in and out of, but the husband of this nice couple is always there to help with guidance in angling the car into the space. Also, as I recall, the wifi wasn't so great.||The woman speaks pretty good English, and we managed with broken German with her husband. Both speak Italian, of course....
