What a great experience! We stayed for 3 nights in a superior double room. The room was bright, clean, well-air-conditioned (!), with a lovely bathroom and free wifi. All of my communications with the staff prior to arrival were professional, timely, and welcoming. The hotel is near the train tracks (as are most of the hotels along the lungomare), and while I heard the train a few times, it never disturbed my sleep or was at all a distraction in the room.||||The breakfast is wonderful with cakes, breads, and other treats all made in-house. We had an early train the day we left, and Lucrezia helped us pack a small sandwich for our lunch.||||Which brings me to Lucrezia -- who made our stay so personal and warm. She indulged our spotty Italian language skills and helped with everything from the lunch above to restaurant recommendations to making contact with a driver who took us to Ascoli Piceno one evening. (There is frequent train service, but we wanted to be on our own schedule). ||||Also wonderfully welcoming was RaLuca (sp?). A lovely woman who cared for our every need (even ones we didn't know we had!).||||The hotel is perfectly located for both the beach and the town. We couldn't have made a better selection and we had considered for a long time staying more in the middle of the lungomare. We are well-pleased with the decision to stay in this location.||||The town of San Benedetto del Tronto is a first-rate town -- a beautiful pedestrian-only shopping area with lovely, high-quality yet affordable shops that are open well in to the evening (although the town does shut down for siesta).||||The beach is beautiful as well, but we were there during the recent heat wave and had to limit how much time we were on the sea. Unfortunate for sure! Don't miss the beautiful sea wall at the northern end of the Lungomare -- a wonderful art installation of carved pieces of sea wall.||||I would love to return to this town and...
Read more2 days in early Jun 2016. They where very welcoming and the room was very spacious, clean and quite with a side view to the sea from our little balcony. One thing that wasn't mentioned is that most shops close around 12:30 and don't reopen until 3:30pm and some restaurants are only open from 12 noon until 2:00pm then reopening 7:30-8:00pm. So if you like to eat earlier it can be an issue. The breakfast was lovely and the coffee was wonderful. Also it seems that the hotel staff don't really promote information on what to see in there own town they leave it up to you to work it out with the very poor tourist map which was supplied free after we asked for one. We had a later train to catch and asked if they could hold our luggage for a few hours which they where happy to do. Overall the hotel was nice but would only stay 1 day if you are...
Read moreIt's a modest hotel but for anyone not looking for all the bells and whistles of a 4/5 star hotel overlooking the sea will find La Palazzina is a great choice. Bedroom was spacious and clean, bathroom also very clean. Breakfast was perfect for us - cereals, fruit, yoghurt, and because this is Italy loads of sweet fare. Staff all very pleasant and helpful. The 4km lungomare is great for a walk or jog. There are no sea views to be enjoyed as far as I could tell, but with the beach right on your doorstep that's no real complaint. Also the hotel is right beside a public park/garden and a very short walk to the town centre. Would recommend La Palazzina without hesitation for a few...
